"Clara! Hurry up!" Kaylee yelled as she banged on the bathroom door. "We're going to be late!"

I sighed as I finished applying my eyeliner and opened the door. "Why do you have so many razer blades in this drawer?" Kaylee asked.

"Because I do."

"Is that why?" She asked as she pointed to my arm. I had forgotten to put the bandage on and roll down my sleeves.

I just nodded and quickly put on the bandage before rolling down the sleeve. "Why do you do it?" She wondered aloud.

"Later. Okay? We're going to be late." I walked out of the room before she could reply.

I'm sure we'd both be crying today. I would have to face Matt, and she would have to face being the new kid, being scared and probably missing her parents a lot. She followed me down the stairs and out the door.

"Where are...um..." I could tell she didn't know what to call our parents. She didn't want to call them mom and dad, it was too soon for that, but it'd be wierd calling them Joey and Angie.

"Probably still sleeping I guess." But I spoke to soon, because at that instant mom and dad walked down the stairs.

"Kaylee! Are you excited for your first day?" Mom said.

"More nervous I think." She seemed so shy around them.

"Aw, well that's okay! It will be great, sweetie." Dad said. Since when was he supportive?

Kaylee just smiled, and I rolled my eyes. Kaylee noticed and gave me a wierd look. "We need to go." I said and started walking outside. Kaylee followed.

'What was that about?"

"What was what about?"

"Why do you act like you hate them?"

"Because I do."

"Why?"

"They hate me, and they're not affraid to show it. Well, actually, I think mom likes me a little bit. Dad though? Hates me."

"I'm sure he doesn't hate you."

"Oh yeah? You have no idea. He hates me."

"Oh. Should I be scared?"

I laughed. "No. He won't do anything to you. It's just me he hates."

She nodded, lost in thought. I looked up and stopped cold when I saw him walking. Matt. God, I can't do this, I should just turn around and go home. Maybe I should just drop Kaylee off then ditch.

"Clara, why'd you stop walking?" Kaylee asked.

"Um, no reason." I mumbled.

"Well I don't want to be late, so hurry up." Kaylee said, pulling me along my the arm.

I got butterflies in my stomach, seeing as we were about two feet away from Matt now. I looked down and took a deep breath. I felt my eyes stinging, but why? Big deal, I see Matt... but now he hates me. He tricked me, lied to me. Maybe Jesse will be nice today though. But really, who cares? It's Matt I care about. I noticed myy hands were trembling as we got closer and closer to being right next to Matt so I clutched my hands in fists.

Kaylee stopped and turned to face me.

"Okay, what's up? One minute your fine, the next you look like your about to burst out crying."

"Nothing." I said, but my voice cracked. "Later."

She nodded and started walking again. "Is it because of him?" She whispered, motioning to Matt.
