Her:

I'm starting to get the hang of this.

I'm starting to control it.

I can create lightning in my own hand without if affecting me or anyone else.

"Lyric, can I talk to you for a minute?" Elliot asks me when he walks into my room.

"Sure," I say.

"This guy, Lake, how well do you know him? Ever since he's moved here, he's only been interested in you. Lyric, there's something fishy about this guy."

"You don't trust me?"

"Of course, I trust you. It's him I don't trust." He says.

"I know what I'm doing. Lake isn't like the rest of them. There's something about him that makes me feels safe." I admit.

"Just please be careful, Lyric. Don't get too close to him. We don't know what will happen when they find us." He says.

"We fight. That's what you've always told me to do."

My phone starts to ring and Elliot answers it before I can.

"I'm putting you on speaker." He says to the phone.

He presses a button and Lake's voice comes out of it. "So, my aunt Athena is back in town and she is here to well... help us. She knows what we both are because she is basically Mother Nature. She controls the weather and we're interfering with it. It's been the same storm for 3 weeks, which means that it's easier for them to find us. Lyric, she told be about Sayers and Seefers."

Sayers are what Lake and I are.

Sayers control at least one of the four elements; air, fire, water and earth.

You can't have lightning or thunder without rain.

Seefers are the ones who hunt us for no reason.

I'm sure there is a reason, but no one knows what it is.

Elliot told me about them when he did some research on what I was.

"There is a school where you can learn to control your powers. Athena wants us to go there. She says it will be safe and she will pay for both us. Lyric, she's freaking loaded. Anyway, tomorrow come over and you two can meet." Lake continues.

"Okay. I'll be there around 1:00pm. Do you trust her?" I ask.

"I do. Athena has always been there for me and she only wants the best for me. Oh, and tomorrow don't try to lie to her because she can read people like a book." He says.

"Okay, see you tomorrow," I say.

"Yep. See you tomorrow, I love you." He says.

I quickly hang up.

Did he just say he loved me?
