(PLEASE READ THE ENDING OF THE LAST CHAPTER BECAUSE I ADDED A FEW THINGS!!)

Her:

A date?

He's asking me out on a date?!

"Umm, sure," I say smiling.

"Okay, cool. I'll pick you up tomorrow at 6:00pm." He says.

Lake walks out of the room and I just stand there.

He just asked me out on a freaking date!

Maybe him hitting that tree did something good.

I quickly call Kaylee and tell her about the date.

"AHHHH! I'm coming over right now! We have to go shopping!" She screams on the phone.

"I'm at Lake's house. Do you know where his house is?" I ask.

"I'll ask Reed and Tide if they know. See you soon!" She says hanging up.

I walk into the bathroom and try to calm down.

He just asked me out!

I turn on the tap and put my hands under the cold water.

I immediately pull my hands back from the water and scream.

Electricity and water don't go well together.

I completely forgot about that.

Someone bangs on the door.

"I'm okay! Just wait a second!" I shout.

"Lyric! You didn't sound okay!" Elliot shouts back.

"Elliot, I'm fine! I just forgot that I can't touch water without pain." I say.

"Lake want to talk to you in his bedroom. Don't do anything stupid." He says.

I open the door.

"Please be careful. I don't want you to get hurt." He continues.

"I'll be careful. I promise." I say.

"I just don't want him to hurt you like Romeo did."

A cold shiver runs over me when I hear his name.

"I'll be fine," I say walking past him.

I walk up the stairs and try to get Romeo out of my head.

I knock on Lake's door and I hear a 'come in'.

When I open the door I see Lake sitting at his desk.

He glasses on and he looks adorable.

"How's your head?" I ask.

"It's better now." He says closing his laptop and standing up.

"Something is happening, though." He continues.

"What do you mean?" I ask.

He takes off his shirt and right above his heart is almost a marking of something.

"Do you know what it is?" He asks.

"It looks like... lightning."

"That's what I thought at first, but when you get close there is some sort of tiny symbols making the image."

I walk closer to him.

"Put these on. You'll be able to see easier." He says taking off his glasses.

I put them on and move my head closer to the marking.

"I've seen these symbols before," I say. "It's the symbol of a Sayer. But I don't know why it's on you and why it's in that shape. Ask Elliot. He knows everything about them."

"I don't want to bother him. It's probably nothing." He says.

I then just realise that he has abs.

Wow. They're amazing.

The next thing I don't expect.

Lake grabs my waist and kisses me like in the movies.

"It might be too early to say this, but I love you." He says breaking the kiss.

I smile and say,"I love you too."

And I know I do.

There is something different about him.

I can tell he cares.

Romeo never did.

"What's wrong?" Lake asks.

"What? Nothing."

"Lyric, you're crying." He says wiping a tear away from my cheek.

"I'm sorry. It's just... nevermind."

I walk out the room and back down the stairs.

Why did I do that?

He needs to know what happened.

But I don't want him to.

Not yet.

But, then when?

I stop halfway down the stairs and freeze.

I see River talking to... Romeo.

What is he doing here?

"Oh, hey Lyric. This is my boyfriend Romeo." She says happily.

I look and him.

He smirks at me.

Them freaking eyes.

They have no emotion in them anymore.

I can hear Lake walking down the stairs behind me.

"Hello, Lyric," Romeo says.

I continue walking down the stairs and walk right past him without saying a word.

I'm so mad.

Mad because he left me when I needed him the most.

Mad because he broke Kaylee's and I's friendship apart.

Mad because he chose the other side.

Lightning strikes and thunder rumbles.
