"You're actually fine, Chiara."

They both took a huge sigh of relief, Chi's hands grabbing just one of Zayn's. Dr. Stork was here now and she had fetched the test results as soon as she arrived.

Chi wasn't exactly cheery this morning. She claimed her stomach hurt so a nurse came in and did a sonogram. It just turned out to be her hunger but the doctors wanted to make sure. Chi was so mad, letting them pester over her just to find out what she had already been telling them.

She was such a mom in hospitals.

"So then, what's wrong?" Zayn asked for her.

"What we've found out is that she has a little head cold along with the high blood pressure. And of course those two things tied into more stuff that I thought would be fatal. Anyway, I still want to watch your blood pressure because that's very important, especially if I just thought you had preeclampsia," she wrote a few things down on the clipboard and looked back up at them, a small smile on her face, "come to me in a week, alright?"

"Okay," Chiara sighed, "but can I leave?"

"Unfortunately--"

"Hospitals are a scam, Zayn. I told you," she poked his cheek and he rolled his eyes.

"Unfortunately, you'll have to stay until the morning. Your blood pressure is still high and they wanna get rid of this cold. And I know you might not like this, but you're gonna have to go on maternity leave."

Zayn bit his lip, watching the imaginary steam come out of his girl's ears. Anyone could tell she was upset, hence the pout and the furrowed eyebrows and the balled up fists.

"Chi..."

"My babies," she cried, an arm over her eyes as she lied down, "it's over now. They're gonna hate me for getting pregnant. Why?"

Zayn felt for her, knowing Chiara loved those kids to death, including his sister. She talked about them everyday, even wondered what they did at home. To say she was attached to them was an understatement. To say she loved her job was an even bigger one.

"I'm sorry, Chiara, but you have to. It's about time," the doctor said sadly.

Dr. Stork bid them both a good day and Chiara continued to sulk. Zayn could only rub her and kiss her face, anything to make her settle down. Her blood pressure was way too high for her to just get worked up over this.

"Babe, calm down," he soothed, kissing her forehead, "just think about when you come back. They're all gonna miss you and hug you--"

"I just wanted to have a nice pregnancy and be, like, really healthy and," she sniffled, "and just be happy. I hate worrying, I hate the pain, I hate leaving work, and I fucking hate hospitals."

She took a deep breath and kept her eyes closed. Zayn just looked down at her hands.

"At least your nails look good," he tried to lighten the mood and it worked, she laughed lightly and smiled at him.

"So optimistic."

"The roles have reversed."

"Right. God," she sighed, turning her head to face him, "Zayn, I love you, but you didn't have to sleep here last night. I know it was uncomfortable."

"Eh," he shrugged, "and you know we both know you'd rather have me here."

"Well, yeah, but--"

"Don't worry about it, baby," he kissed her forehead, "I'll probably go later to get you some clothes, okay?"

"Just those dresses I like, if you don't mind," she breathed, "a dark one, maybe."

"Okay."

Chi was so cute.

Today, she was leaving the hospital -- her blood pressure was very good now -- and couldn't be more happier. Zayn was just happy she was happy and back to good health. She wore a little gray dress that clung to her body so anyone could tell she was close to having this baby. Her bump was Zayn's favorite thing beside the girl herself, and anytime it was available he touched it.

Just like now. He was cuddling with unborn baby RyDae, his head on her belly and his hand rubbing the other side. Chi kept taking pictures and recording him but he refused to partake in it.

"You're so cute," she giggled, bumping his head with her phone, "say hi to the camera, baby Z."

"No," he mumbled, moving away and laughing when she kept hitting him, "Chi, you turd."

"Not a turd you bootyhole."

Zayn giggled and kissed her stomach. "I love you, babe."

"Aw, cute."

"Say it back," he pouted, finally looking at her. She was still recording him. "Chi, gross."

"I love you, baby," she kissed his forehead, "tell RyDae you love him."

"I been loved RyDae since forever," he continued to cuddle with her belly, "yo, when you get out, you gotta see how fine your mom looks."

"Zayn..."

"Nah, fam, and she looks good all the time--"

"You dummy," she giggled, "where is the stupid nurse?"

"RyDae, I'll raise you to appreciate hospitals as much as your mother does."

"I do, just people are dumb."

"I'll teach you to be as nice as mummy, too."

"Zayn, let's just go--"

"Chiara, wait," he said, holding her down on the bed, "you're going to wait for these discharge papers whether you want to or not. Chill, babe."

She sighed and sat up a little more. "Sorry, I just wanna go back home and sulk in my misery."

"I'm not gonna let you," he pouted, "be a little more optimistic, baby. You get some time off and I know you love those kids, but your health is way more important to me."

Chiara huffed, knowing he was right. Zayn had been right a lot lately, it was kinda weird.

"I'll miss my babies."

"I know, babe."

The nurse came in and handed Chi the discharge papers. She quickly signed them  and bid the lady a nice day.

If she could have walked faster out of that room, she would have.
