•zayn•"This is more like it," Chiara hummed while snuggling closer to her man.
Chiara was so adamant on not going on a date that Zayn caved and decided on doing something at home. He resorted to picking out Classic movies -- her favorite kind besides Black Cinema -- and making one of her favorite meals: Steak and onions and potatoes.
The TV was playing A Streetcar Named Desire, Chi's favorite Classic, which was about a woman named Blanche and her husband Stanley moving to Mississippi. Their relationship was very toxic, and her flirtatious ways towards other men always go to him.
Zayn had never seen it before, which was why she was basically talking to herself because, yes, that movie was pretty good and he didn't want to miss a second of it.
"Remember when I was pregnant and hungry and you made food to send to me?" she murmured, rubbing his bare chest and smiling against his skin.
Zayn didn't answer.
"Zayn."
"Hm," he grunted, looking at her before turning back to the TV, "what?"
"You're not even listening."
"I am," the movie abruptly ended and Zayn blinked, "so good, man."
"Now that I have your undivided attention," she cleared her throat and he just smiled, "beautiful man."
"I remember this meal," he replied to her earlier question and she looked at him in shock, "yeah, I said it. I remember everything, baby."
"Fine," she pouted and made his body turn to hers, "so is that our meal?"
"Yeah...like, our meal."
Chiara grinned, kissing his chest and feeling his heart beat. "That's cute. And thank you for dinner, I'm super glad you can season because I didn't know if I could do this any longer."
"Shut up."
"But seriously."
"Chi," he chuckled and pulled her body closer, "are you naked under these covers?"
"No," she looked down between them, "but you are. Definitely."
"Ah," he sighed, hugging her and making her giggle, "I love you."
"Love you too," she hummed, "so smooth, babe."
"Don't touch me unless you wanna get wrecked."
She poked him.
"Chi, you're such a child."
"Whatever," she pulled herself up and kissed his chin, "do you think the kids are okay?"
"Yes, babe," Zayn refrained from rolling his eyes and holding her closer, "you worry a lot, ya know? The children are fine and so are you. You'll see them tomorrow when we're about to get married."
Chiara just hummed, biting her lip. "We're gonna get married. How mad do you think our parents will be when they found out we did it without them?"
"They'll probably disown us," he shrugged like he didn't care, "but I'd risk it for you, lowkey."
"Lowkey," she repeated, staring at the ceiling, "I actually love you, Zayn."
"Same, omg," she giggled at his behavior and he just moved so he lied on top of her.
"Get off, you're too heavy."
"I'm not, though," he smothered her with kisses and Chiara was so loud when she laughed, he loved to hear it everyday. Goodness gracious. "I love you more."
"Impossible," she sang loudly, "impossible. For a plain yellow pumpkin to become a golden carriage--"
"Impossible," he laughed against her lips and kissed them again. She hummed lowly, wrapping her arms around his shoulders and deepening the kiss. He bit her lip and pulled away suddenly, looking deep into her eyes.
"I can't wait to marry you, Chiara," and for some reason he had to repeat himself because, he really couldn't believe they were going to do it, although sort of secretly but still, it was about to happen.
"I can't wait to marry you, either," she whispered softly, holding his face in her hands, "like, this shit is real. Isn't that crazy?"
"I'm so glad I have a terrible pullout game."
Chi burst into laughter, covering her mouth and closing her eyes. "Oh my God, Zayn!"
"I'm not even joking, like. Okay, this one time It was great, alright? But...nah."
"If it wasn't with me it doesn't matter, hear me? Your credibility is now tarnished."
"Yes, mom," he rolled his eyes and felt her hand trail down his stomach. "What are you doing, honeybee?"
"Honeybee," she swooned, "so cute you are."
Zayn chuckled, starting to kiss her again when her hand was on his thigh. She just kept giggling and Zayn wondered what was wrong with her.
Chiara was so bubbly and he didn't understand how he fell in love with someone like her. She stayed optimistic through everything and she seemed to uplift others whenever she could. She was the best mom and the greatest girlfriend slash fiancée slash soon to be wife he could ever ask for.
And she fell asleep while he was kissing her.
Zayn pulled away, laughing at the fact she had the nerve to snore.
"I didn't know I was that boring," he scoffed playfully, securing the covers around them and finally cutting the TV off. He wrapped his arm around her and sat up on his elbow, watching her face as she slept.
It was probably really weird but, he liked watching her because she'd frown and giggle and mutter incoherent things while she slept. Chiara was so adorable, ugh. He hated it because how could he stay mad at her, especially if he wanted to stay mad to play hard to get?
He hated her.
Zayn grinned, kissing her forehead and cutting the bedside light off. He pulled the cover up to his neck and snuggled closer to her body.
"'Night, babe."
"G'Night," she sighed, her cheek against his chest. He made a face at her and puffed out a laugh.
