My mother held out a set of car keys in front of me. "Here," she said placing the keys in my hand. "I think it's about time you started driving to school."

"Are you serious?" I asked her quickly grabbing the keys from her hand.

She clasped her hands together. "Well, since you won't be the only one going to school now, it might be easier to take a car instead of walking."

"Thanks, mom," I said giving her a quick hug.

Elaina quickly rushed down the stairs in a panic. "I'm so sorry!" she said. "It's my first day and I'm a mess. I can't believe this. I overslept and I had to rush to get dressed," she rambled.

"You look fine," I said in a brotherly tone. "And we won't be late because I get to drive," I said dangling the keys in front of her face.

"I can't believe they would let you drive," she mumbled. I could tell she was already getting used to us.

"Come on. You don't want to be late for school too."

We both hopped in the car and I drove to school.

"Are people nice?" Elaina asked.

I shrugged my shoulders. "It depends on who you hang out with."

"Is everyone rich and snobby?"

I automatically thought of Emma. She was the total opposite of rich and snobby. "No. Not everyone is like that, but there are some people."

"Are the boys cute?" She asked excitedly.

I laughed. "I think you're asking the wrong person."

She kept asking me random questions as I drove to school. They finally stopped when I parked the car in the parking lot.

I got out of the car and felt delicate arms wrap around my waist. I turned around and saw Emma staring up at me with her gorgeous brown eyes. "So I see your parents finally let you take the car for a spin."

I kissed her softly. "They finally caved," I said to her.

"And who is this?" Emma asked looking at Elaina.

"Emma, this is Elaina. She's going to be living with our family since there were some...unexpected events that occurred," I explained vaguely. "Elaina, this is Emma, my girlfriend."

Emma gave Elaina a smile that I knew was fake. I could already see Emma's jealousy building up.

"Hi," Elaina said softly.

"Hey," Emma said back to her. I knew Emma probably had a lot to say.

"Um, I should get going," Elaina explained uncomfortably. "It was nice meeting you."

Elaina walked away and I gave a disapproving look to Emma. "Alright, what are you going to rant about now?" I asked.

"I don't know what you're talking about," Emma said pretending to be innocent.

"Come on, I know you must always have something to say," I said. I knew her way too well by now. She always had an opinion on everything.

"I'm just not comfortable with a random girl staying with you."

"Why?" I asked. I didn't have to ask because I already knew why. Emma was jealous.

She shrugged her shoulders. "What if she likes you?"

"I don't think she does," I explained to her.

"Well, what if she does? And what if she tries to make a pass at you?"
