vi. dress to impress

"Stupid Party! Stupid Jenna! Stupid Louis! Stupid Clothes!" I yelled as I threw the contents of my wardrobe onto the floor. I didn't want to go to Jenna's party in a few hours but I had to. I guess it's what I got for pretending to be her friend.
"Just because I'm a designer doesn't mean I have anything good to wear." I muttered as my eyes scanned the pile of clothes on my floor. The invitation said Formal. I didn't own any formal clothes. After a lot of procrastination I decided to head down to the shop. Maybe I could make a dress in time for tonight. I had a feeling that Jenna wanted to be the best dressed there but I had a different idea. If she wanted me to go to the party then I can dress to impress. I didn't have time to draw up a design so I settled on relying on my head to know what to do. I already knew my measurements of by heart so that saved a lot of time. I spent a couple of minutes searching my material collection, I wanted to find a material that would be stunning. Again, after a few minutes of procrastination I settled on a nice red material that I couldn't quite remember the name of. I quickly headed towards my sewing machine, eager to make my mysterious dress.

"Well it's better than I expected." I mused to myself a while later, holding the dress up to myself in the mirror. The dress was long, it came down to my ankles. When I put it on the long split to the top of my thigh would be shown. The top of it was a halter neck and low cut. It wasn't a slutty cut but it wasn't a turtleneck either. I grinned to myself, admiring my rushed work. I made my way up the stairs so I could get ready. Louis would be picking me up in an hour. I really didn't know why Jenna had picked Louis to be my chaperone. I would have expected Louis to be with Jenna before the party...
Oh well no time to worry about that now.
Being Eco Friendly wasn't high on my priorities list but my shower was so quick that I was definitely saving the planet with my water usage. I didn't dare use a blow dryer on my hair or it would turn to frizz. Hopefully the warm spring air would dry it before I had to leave. I put of some foundation and powder before my eye make-up. I heavily played on the mascara. My eyelashes were naturally longer but when I use mascara they really do pop.
With the hour drawing near I started rushing. In my anger a few hours earlier I had thrown my shoes all over my bedroom so I had to spend a few minutes searching for a matching pair. I quickly threw all the basic essentials into my purse and coated my lips in bright red lipstick.
"It'll have to do." I sighed, staring at the mirror. It looked like too much, I was worried about that.
Before I could evolve my negative thoughts I heard the shop's doorbell ring. I stuck my tongue out at my reflection before racing down to the door. I unlocked it and smiled only to be greeted by a very fancy looking Louis in my dark blue tux.
"Good evening to you madam." Louis smirked, pronouncing his words in a posh English accent.
"Hi Louis" I replied, rolling my eyes.
"Did you make the dress?" He asked, eyes scanning me as he admired my handiwork.
"I only finished it an hour ago. I didn't want to outdo Jenna with my dress."
"Well I think you failed at that." Louis smirked, earning him a smack on the arm with my purse.
"Why did Jenna make you pick me up? I mean shouldn't you be spending today with her?"
He shrugged, "Jenna thinks I'm the only one she can trusts that can get you there."
"What do you mean?" I ask
"Well she knows you're not that keen on coming and she thinks I'm great at persuading people"
"You don't need to persuade me Louis. I'm coming." I headed for Louis' car.
"Really? Well lets go then Rose!" He replied with excitement. I just rolled my eyes and hopped into the car.

The ride to Jenna's party was silent. Louis asked me about a few things and I replied to all of them sarcastically until he gave up trying to keep the conversation going. We pulled up to a large hall, blue and white balloons were strewn across the façade. Louis hopped out of the car and opened the door for me. I thanked him and walked towards the entrance. I was expecting Louis to follow me in but instead he just stood there.
"Are you coming inside?" I asked
"Sorry Rose but I have to pick up Jenna. She expects me to walk in with her and only her." Louis sounded disappointed but I brushed it away
"Well am I going to have to go in alone?" I reply, a frown formed on my face.
"Of course not! Your Dates are behind you!" Louis winked and then hopped into his car.
"What dates?" I asked myself before spinning around. Behind me were the rest of the Band all dressed up in tuxedoes. Harry grinned and did the ta-da! pose. I rolled my eyes before walking up to them. A part inside of me was fan girling big time but I ignored that part of me.
"Good Evening guys! And Harry." I said with a smirk.
"Huh?" Harry mumbled as the boys fell into a fit of laughter. When they all stopped laughing Liam extended his hand to me.
"Hi I'm Liam!"
"And I'm Zayn"
"The name's Niall!"
"It's great to meet you all!" I said enthusiastically. I couldn't stop grinning.
"Well Rose, It's time to go in and meet everyone else that Jenna knows." Zayn smiled. He was studying my face. I wonder how much Louis told them about me.
"Nice dress by the way." Harry winked
"Oh this thing? I made it this afternoon." I smirked. Before any of the guys replied I walked towards the Hall entrance. "Well Come on guys, the party don't start 'till we walk in!"
