xiv. good morning sunshine

— • —

My eyes flickered open to find myself not in my bed back in my apartment. Instead I was sleeping on a couch wrapped in someone's arms. I shifted my head to see who I had fallen asleep with. Louis was sound asleep next to me, smiling as his eyes flickered under his eyelids. I yawned but dared not to move, Louis had both his arms wrapped around me and even if I tried to sit up I would wake him. I looked around the room, trying to think about how I had fallen asleep. After we demolished the ice cream and talked we had decided to watch few movies. The names of the movies escaped my memory. I couldn't remember much after our little talk. Great. I must have fallen asleep during one of the movies.

A movement in the corner of my eye caught my attention. I slowly moved my head so I could see above the back of the couch to find Harry rummaging in the fridge. I watched him as he grabbed bacon, eggs and a few other ingredients. He then turned to face the stove when he spotted me.

"Good morning sunshine." Harry winked grabbing a frying pan.

I stuck my tongue out at him and moved my body a tiny bit. The movement must have stirred Louis because his chest rumbled with laughter. I looked up towards Louis and he was laughing slightly, smiling at me. "Good morning Louis." I smiled back at him while edging my way into a sitting position.

"Good morning to you to Rose." He let go of me and shifted into a sitting position. Scratching his head he turned to face Harry. "Why were we sleeping on the couch?"

Harry took it as his queue to speak, "I came home at around 10pm and you both were out to it. I turned Toy Story off for you in case you were wondering."

"Toy Story?" I asked Louis while breaking out into laughter. "I haven't watched that movie in ages." I then remembered the movies that we were watching. Louis and I had watched Toy Story 1, 2 & 3.

Louis rolled his eyes and stood up, walking towards the kitchen. I followed him, my legs were sore from sleeping in a tight position all night. I glanced up at the clock on the wall. It was only 7:30am. Groaning, I turned around and walked back to the couch.

"What's wrong Rosy?" Harry asked while placing the bacon on the pan.

"I thought I told you not to call me Rosy." I hissed while sitting back on the couch, causing both the boys to laugh. Ignoring their laughter I continued, "The thing that is wrong is that I woke up at 7:30 in the morning to someone cooking breakfast."

"Aww come on Rose get up. It's a beautiful day!" Louis bounded around the kitchen grinning.

"And the people in the kitchen are insane." I replied turning to face the back of the couch. They left me alone after that and I closed my eyes trying to think of what I had to do today. If I remembered correctly it was the 20th, a Saturday. Today I usually closed my shop and made all the dresses but I had no customers at the moment that needed anything. So I guess today was a free day for me.

The smell of the bacon eggs was the only thing that dragged me off the couch a couple of minutes later. I walked over to the kitchen island and sat on the nearest stool. Both Harry and Louis had donned chef's hats while I was on the couch. I just rolled my eyes and watched them, eager for food. After a few more minutes waiting, Louis grabbed three plates from a cupboard and set them out on the island. Harry then took the frying pan off the stove and walked towards me, "For you madam."  I laughed and he placed my breakfast on my plate.

"Drinks?" Louis asked from across the kitchen.

"Coffee. If not water." I enjoyed a coffee no matter where it came from. I didn't have coffee back in my apartment and because I am usually rushing I never have time to have one.

"So three coffees' it is." Louis nodded grabbing three mugs from the cupboard above him.

I savoured the smell of the breakfast as I waited for Harry and Louis to join me. The bacon smelled heavenly but I stopped myself from eating it because I liked eating only when everyone else was sitting. A minute or so later Louis placed my coffee in front of my plate before sitting on the stool next to me. Harry then rushed over with his plate full of food and sat on the other side of Louis.

I didn't wait to be told to start eating once they sat down so I dug into my breakfast. The bacon was just right and the eggs were scrambled and fluffy. I would compare this morning's appetite to that of a person who has been lost in the desert for a month. After I downed my breakfast I looked over to the two guys. "Thanks for the breakfast. It was delicious."

"That's ok Rose!" They both said at once. I chuckled and finished my cup of coffee. After I made sure I had eaten everything off my plate I headed towards the sink. I got halfway there before Louis grabbed my plate and mug from my hands.

"Hey I was going to clean it up!" I exclaimed trying to grab my plate back from Louis.

"Harry's on cleaning duty." Louis replied smugly.

"Hey!" Harry didn't sound impressed. "That's not fair, I cooked most of it."

"I know that Haz but yesterday you promised to do the washing up for a week."

"Bugger." Harry muttered as he stood up and grabbed the dirty plates and mugs from Louis.

As Harry slowly walked towards the sink Louis took a step towards me and cocked his head.

"What do you want Lou?" I asked

"What are your plans for today?" He smirked

"Well to be honest... nothing. I don't open the shop on Saturday. Instead I make the dresses... but I have no needy customers at the moment."

"How would you like to come to a boring meeting, see Niall, Zayn and Liam again and hang out with us today?" Louis smiled

"I don't know..."

"Please please please please please" Louis pleaded, sticking his bottom lip out

I crumbled in after a few moments and grinned. "Fine Louis... I'll come but let me go home and get ready."

"Great!" Louis grinned, "We will pick you up in an hour."

"What? Ok then let me get home first." I then rushed for the door.

"See ya soon Rosy!" Harry called as I closed the door. I felt like whacking him with something hard but it was too late. By the time I realised what he called me I was already descending the stairs.
