vii. just a bit ott

Celebrities and others filled the hall, talking to each other in tight clusters. Waiters walked around with champagne glasses and finger food. The party was very elegant and I felt out of place.

"Is Jenna a celebrity?" I ask Harry when the rest of the band drifted off into the crowd.

"Jenna? No! She's just a normal girl that got lucky I guess." Harry then looked around, trying to find a new subject. "Louis organised the party. I guess that's why all these big names turned up."

I scanned the crowd "Will there be any people that I'll recognize?"

"There might be." Harry smiled slyly

"Who? Who? Who?"

"My Little Bird" Harry sung as a clue

"Ed Sheeran will be here? YAY! YAY! YAY! YAY!" I started squealing. I never had a chance to see him perform since I never had the money to go to a concert. Hopefully I'd get to meet him.

"Don't be too exited Rose" He chuckled, "Or I won't let you go near him."

I shrugged, "I'd like to see you try Harry." I then looked around the hall again, "Aren't you supposed to be mingling with others and not hanging with a designer with no friends?"

Harry shook his head, "I've been told that I had to be your babysitter because I'm the only one who knows you."

"Oh." I frowned, "I'm older than you. I don't need a babysitter."

Harry laughed and shrugged, "Fine by me. If you need me I'll be with Zayn." He then walked away, leaving me standing by myself in the middle of the crowd.

[Louis' POV]

"Wait for me Louis! My shoe fell off!" Jenna whined as she hopped out of the car. I rolled my eyes at her and leaned against the car until she had put her shoe back on.

"Ready now?" I asked, "Everyone's waiting"

"Yep! I'm ready to have my party!" Jenna squeaked, standing up to face me. She smiled before kissing me on the lips. I returned the kiss but pulled away before she could make something out of it. "Don't I get a birthday pash?" She asked with a sly grin.

"If I kiss you now you'll have no lipstick by the time we get inside." I laughed and grabbed her hand, dragging her towards the entrance. A few sneaky paparazzi milled around the entrance, their cameras focused on us. Instead of playing up for the camera I decided to keep my head low until we were inside. When Jenna and I stood in front of the main doors I poked her in the ribs.

"Hey! What's that for?" She asked, rubbing where I had just poked her.

"Are you ready?" I replied

"Of course I am. Are you ready Lou?" She asked in her usual smile.

"Sure Am!" I said enthusiastically though deep down I wasn't ready. Deep down I knew something was going to happen.

The doors swung open to show the crowded hall filled with Jenna's friends, family and well-known people. I grinned and put my arm around Jenna's waist as I guided her into the hall. The guests each had a handful of confetti and they took our entrance as a chance to throw it at us as they shouted 'HAPPY BIRTHDAY!'

Besides me, Jenna was laughing and squealing at what was happening. To stay in the partying spirit I bear hugged Jenna and whispered next to her ear "Happy Birthday Jen."
