xxxiii. falling leaves

— • —

Months flew by, events happened and life evolved into things I would never have imagined. Fall was a month that held the most unique events. The band were doing a lot of television appearances in various countries which meant the boys left me by my lonesome self in good 'ol dreary London. I did not mind being in a different country as Harry. Actually, when I come to think about it, living in country as far away from that curly haired boy would be a good thing. But to think again it would be strange to have no one to pick on. I kept in touch with Louis through face time when he was overseas. It was always hard to get a private chat with him though. The boys just loved crashing our conversations and wrecking the private conversations we always have. But with the boys being MIA quite often in the cooling months of Fall, I had time to focus on my career. The career that took a step in the wrong direction when I myself went MIA over the summer.

Fall, the season of falling leaves. It was my favourite season to design. I had a soft spot for the darker yet warmer tones and the fashions that saw tops slowly cover the body parts of its wearer. My biggest fan, Miss Emily Rivers slowly worked her way into becoming a silent partner in my business. I enjoyed having her insight and knowledge about business and accounting in my store. She also kept my head afloat when business was slow and bills were due. She let me have a lot of free time, a lot of Louis time. I couldn't thank her enough for that. She was a lifesaver and over almost a year, she has become an unlikely close friend. I was lucky to meet her. Another thing about my career is that I got to do something that I never really did before. I got to make Halloween costumes! It was fun to see what my clients dressed up as and it was even more fun to see what my mind could create from their creatures of horror. Cats, Vampires, Fairies, Zombies, Mermaids and Hot sexy nurses are what I got to create for my clients. It was fun and the highlight of all the costume wearers Halloween parties.

Halloween parties.

I had never been to a Halloween party before. Never been interested. The closest I have gotten is trick or treating with either my mum or Louis as a kid. I cannot believe that I was never interested in going to one of those parties! A Halloween party is probably the best thing that has happened since slice bread. Well at least it is for me... I wouldn't be the only one thinking this if other people got to experience a celebrity Halloween party with all the A Listers in England. It was a bloody good time, let me tell you that. It was also the night that my relationship with a certain someone went public.

Michelle, after a few months procrastinating, decided that the Halloween party was where Louis' relationship status went public. I almost choked on my cornflakes when Michelle and Louis told me the news one morning when I was staying over with Louis. I was confused at why Michelle wanted it to be the party but after thinking it through the party idea did make sense. Paparazzi would be everywhere, ready to spread the latest 1D gossip.

Thankfully, I made it through the whole fiasco. It was my third party with the boys and unlike the other ones, the spotlight was on them. Or more likely Louis. We were bombarded with savage paparazzi eager to find out who the girl was with her hand entwined with Mr Tomlinson's.  I thankfully survived the night and I thankfully survived the weeks following which was filled with gossip of me, the band and who I was. My 'mysterious girl' status never lasted long. A few days after Halloween Louis tweeted a photo of him and me at the party. Both of us were dressed up in matching costumes, myself a fairy and he a pixie.

"Great night spent with my girl Rose :-) x"

Well Louis really knows how to state the obvious without actually saying the word 'Girlfriend'. The days after that tweet were hectic in both the online and real worlds. I had thousands of obsessive fans stalking my entire life, where I live and what I do. I had death threats mixed in with messages of love. The hate didn't affect me. Like as if a death threat is going to break me up from my Louis. The speculation about me finally was settled on an interview that One Direction had. It was broadcast internationally on the internet and live on television for all those Americans. It was then, when Louis had a close up on screen that he told the world that he loved me, the girl with the curls and the history with him. Oh Louis oh how you helped this whole thing dearly.

I guess he kind of did help the situation. After his rabid fans found out that we were childhood best friends and that I wasn't just out to get the fame they accepted me. The hate was still there but the words of support, the love, the fanpages. Those things were the reason for me to rethink my life. I never thought I would be a public figure in the music world. Just like a year ago that I would never share another one of Louis' birthdays.
