4. Best Day

Donnell (Donny) and Danielle (Dani)

I woke up at 12:17 due to Mark making noise. I woke up and took a shower and brushed my teeth.

My door slammed open and Mark walked in.

"Did you see my shoes"

I looked down and saw that he only had one shoe. I silently shook my head no an he left out.

I got dressed in a long sox shirt and a tank top with some shorts. I grabbed my white shoes and I put my hair in a ponytail.

After Mark left out for work I went in my room and started writing. I hummed to myself silently. I heard a knock come from downstairs.

"Kehlani your friends are here" Mom called.

I closed my journal and hid it. I opened my door and walked downstairs. August stood there dressed in all black. And Dani was dressed in blue and white.

August smiled at me. I looked down.

"Make sure you have her back before 10" Mom say smiling.

"Yes ma'am"

We walked out to the car and I sat in the front seat. Dani sat next to Donny in the back seat.

"I hope you like horror movies" August say.

"Yeah they okay"

August started driving making small conversation.

We arrived at the movies.

I pulled out my emergency $10 and was about to pay but August gave the lady $50 for the both of us.

"I could of paid" I say as the lady handed us our ticket.

"I kno' but I paid fa you"

"Room 3c"

I nodded. I followed behind August and be went to the store. He got skittles, a large popcorn, nachos, and 1 large blueberry drink.

We went into the room and sat all the way in the back. I sat next to him Dani sat next to me and Donny sat on the other side of her.

The preview started and the lights dimmed. Once the movie started I immediately regret agreeing to watch it.

I scary boy popped out of the box and I jumped and hid my face in August arm. August thought it was funny and started laughing.

"Stop August its not funny" I whined covering my face as the girl got killed.

"I'm sorry baybeh but yo face"

I rolled my eyes and rested my hand on the arm rest near August's. After a minute or so his fingers interlocked with mines.

I didn't want to let go. So I let him hold on to it. After a while the movie went off and we stood up but we were still holding hands.

"What time is it?" I asked August.

"3"

"I still have a lot of time left so....."

"Ight" We got in the car and we started driving. As always August and Dani were arguing. Todays topic is on who buttocks looked real and the biggest. K. Michelle or Nicki Minaj.

"K. Michelle brah" August say.

"No its Nicki all day"

"Are you blind girl, K gotta fatty"

"What ever Aug" Dani flicked him off.

August pulled up at a park. He parked and we got out.

"Race you?" Donny say to August.
