Ghosts have been subject to speculation for millenniums. 

A ghost is most likely described as a phantom, apparition, spirit, spook etc. 

It is the soul or spirit of a dead person which appears to be living. Descriptions of ghosts vary widely from an invisible presence to translucent or barely visible wispy shapes, to realistic, lifelike visions. Ghosts are generally described as solitary essences that haunt particular locations, objects, or people they were associated with in life. There are thousands of videos and pictures exist claiming to be proof of ghosts - but none of them have so far convinced everybody. 

It is thought that ghosts are never sleeping, they are always roaming around especially if they want justice for their death. Many people believe in ghosts even though they may not exist or their existence cannot be proved.

Ghosts don't have a material body- ghosts are not impeded by material barriers and can fly through walls. 

Ghosts normally appear in the middle of the night. They are frequently encountered around cemeteries. Ghosts have the ability to move objects to make their presence known.

A haunting is where a ghost or other paranormal being is said to be present. Old, abandoned homes are said to be popular places for such encounters. Common signs of a paranormal or ghost activity include: unexplained noises (especially in the night) such as footsteps, knocking, floorboards creaking, banging, scratching or the sound of something being dropped. Cupboards/drawers that seem to open by themselves, lights unexpectedly turning on or off. Disappearing Items: An everyday object is suddenly missing from it's usual spot, only to see it reappear back a few days later. Feeling of being watched: This may be an overall feeling, or specific to only one area of the house.
