Mia's POV

“Ms. Calvin I need you in my office now,” Elijah's voice beeped over the intercom.

“OK I'll be right there,” I replied.

I took a deep breath and held my head high before exiting my office and went over to his with confidence. I stopped at his office
door all my confidence vanished into thin air. I took several deep breaths before knocking in his office door.

“Come in,” he replied in his accent. I carefully turned the knob of the door and closed it back once I got in. He was seated at his desk with his attention completely focused on his laptop.

“Uhm. You wanted to see me sir.”
At the sound of my voice he looked up and rose from his seat. He began making his way to where I stood in the room, his strides show I and dangerous. I gulped and started to walk backwards until I felt my back hit against something, he caught up to me and was very close ... too close.

“Yes Ms. Calvin I requested your presence the thing is I couldn't help but feel very offended when you told your brother that you loathed me and right in front of my face too. So what do you have to say for yourself ?” he asked with a hurtful expression on his face that I was sure he was faking.

I inhaled sharply then spoke, “I'm sorry Mr. Hernandez I had no right to say that seeing as I didn't even know you and I promise it won't happen again.”

He made a tsk sound then spoke again,“You see Ms. Calvin you hurt my very sensitive feelings but me being the good man I am I'm sure I can find it in my very genuine heart to allow your apology to suffice this time,” he stated with a slight smile which I couldn't tell if it was fake or real. I smiled back so I wouldn't seem rude.

“Ms. Calvin if you don't mind me asking why exactly do--or should I say did you loathe me so much?” he asked as he took his seat.

I bit on my lip an habit that I normally did when I was nervous or when I was about to say something bad about someone to themselves. “Well I thought you were a cold blooded animal that killed people for fun no matter who is present and that you used woman and discarded them like trash not even caring about their feelings or if they were hurt in any way possible,” I blabbered.

He looked at me or more like stared at me for a while before he burst into fits of laughter; his laughter lighten the atmosphere and it sounded almost melodious.“What allowed you to think that lowly of me ?”

“Well mostly my brother,” I answered lowly but he still heard.

“And what made him think that lowly of me ?”

“The internet; I guess,” I answered once again barely audible.

“So let me get this straight you judged me because of the internet a source known for lies?”

“Uhm-.”

“You are dismissed,” he stated cutting off what I was saying. I didn't need to hear it twice as I scurried through the door and went back to my office to finish my work.

I smirked to internally. I had her exactly where I wanted her. Even though every word she told me why she loathed me were true she didn't have proof; internet gave false news all the time. Now time to work on her brother. I had to find out why I felt this connection towards her and that would mean I had to be on good terms with every one in the family. I left the floor that only dad, Mia and I offices were located and went into the lift. I waited patiently until the lift finally arrived at the financial department I stepped out. I felt everyone's eyes making holes in my back from their intense stares; this was why I hated coming to the different departments and would have preferred to send someone but this had to be dealt with personally. It didn't take long for me to find both him and his father. I asked politely to speak with him privately and then I began my work.

“Jay I know you hate me but what I don't understand is why.”

“Simple you're one of the worst persons to live on the face of this earth,” he shrugged. I laughed mentally and even thanked him in my head.

“ Ouch. What caused you to think that way?”

The same internet story came up and I asked him the same question I asked Mia and by the time we finished our conversation we were on good terms. This was so easy I only hoped Mia fell for what I did too. I went back to my floor and gave Mia the rest of the day off and I myself went home were I had to tell the guys what was happening but how would I explain it. I was just going to tell them what I told dad and tell Lyeo and Lyev that the girl happened to be one of James' children, yeah that would be perfect. I sped home enjoying the feeling it gave me and very soon I arrived at a familiar mansion, my mansion. I parked the car in the garage and went to find the guys they were all in one room and when I got in they all folded their arms and on behalf of everyone Lyeo being Lyeo spoke.

“Ass-face what the ass is going on?”

I explained the lie I told my father to them and told Lyeo and Lyev that the girl was chosen but it wasn't intentional because I didn't know she was James' daughter. They all believed me, that was another trait that I had to have being a Mafia Boss; I had to be able to tell a lie like it was the truth so no one would suspect or even know when I was telling a lie from when I was actually telling the truth.

“But why did you suggest the idea to your father in the first place?” Anton asked.

“Because I wanted to take over the company and I sure as hell wasn't getting married and leaving you uncivilized little girls
was not even an option; I would always be worried just waiting for that one call the cops would give me to tell me that you guys destroyed not only my home but the whole world. I can't let that happen? Can I?” I shrugged. By now we were all laughing and the previous conversation forgotten. I felt bad for having to lie but it was for the best, they would think that I was crazy in the head and I honestly wouldn't blame them.
