Chapter 12- *The Attachment-Normal P.O.V.*
Flashback Story Continued...
Winter felt the flames of change within his domain. He scowled not liking this feeling one bit. He might not have been a Country Personification, but the Season spoke the languages of nature: Earth and Air. And they were sending the ominous message of rebellion and mass murder. He felt inclinded suddenly to check on the girl. He became the snowy storm tornado to get to her as quickly as possible.
The Romanov family had gone to the small city of Yekaterinburg. The date was April 29th, 1918. Many in America and across the world believed the family had already been dead for the Tsar Nicholas had stepped down as regent in 1917 for the social unrest in the country. Winter might have been a Spirit, but he had ears everywhere to tell him everything. He scoweled at how far he was for he usually liked to keep near the mountains and forests. But, he got there just in time to the place inside the basement.
He gasped at the sight of blood shed that was there and the men that were holding their rifles with bayonets.
The Tsar and wife, the three elder sisters all dead. This wasn't just an execution, but a massacre done by intoxicated men. He could smell the alcohol that came off their disgusting breath. The last ones still alive were Anastasia and Alexei. Winter couldn't interfere in human affairs unless it was taking human life and he reached out to her as he heard her whisper, "Please let me see Vanya again..." He stopped to hear that as one of the men drunkenly lunged himself at her with his bayonet after failing to shoot straight only hitting various parts of her body. Her screams of pain echoed in the room, but still admirably trying to save her younger brother. Alexei had been sick his whole life and little did his family know he was prepared to die. His hemophilia had no cure, so he wouldn't have lived long even if he had become Tsar. He made it easy by closing his eyes as the last of the men shot the child in the head as his body slunk down next to his fathers.
For the first time in forever, Winter felt something like... Attachment to this family. He watched as the men made their way outside puking out in the snow at the horrible act they just done. ''Pathetic... These men have no right to feel guilty!" He felt rage as the snow became a blizzard around him wanting to kill these people.
That's when he noticed a white orb that seemed to linger. And a voice, "Oh Winter. Don't be such a cranky old man." Anastasia! Why has her soul not passed on? He calmed his storm slightly delighted he was making those weasels down on the ground shivering with the cold.
The little ball of light formed her body dressed in white lace dress; not a tear from the stab wounds to the chest and not a stain of blood on her. She floated towards him. "Hey." Her smile still present even after all this.
"Anastasia... Girl, why have you not moved on to the next world?" Winter being a bit miffed at how she always managed to surprise him and also... Happy she was there to talk to him.
"I saw you... And I know this is a lot to ask." She looked down her blue eyes not meeting his ancient dark ones. "I know you heard my prayer. I can't leave Ivan... Russia alone. He'll be sad that we're gone." Her pale skin even against the snow showed off her blush. He knew of her crush on the Russian Nation.
Winter knew then what she wanted to ask. "So then ask. For I will grant it." Because honestly? He wanted to keep this child around. She always kept things interesting.
