I stepped out of the large brick building and into the crisp fall New York air. I just finished a night lecture and I'm exhausted.
I walked down the street with plans to head straight back to my dorm, finish up my paper for my philosophy class, and go to bed. A breeze blew through the air and I crossed my arms over my chest in hopes to give off any extra body heat. This jacket doesn't do justice.
"Cold?" a voice said from behind me. Wait a second, that's an awfully familiar voice. Was it....
"Calum!" I exclaimed, turning around and running into his arms.
He caught me and spun me around. Once he put me down, still holding on to me, he said, "Hi princess. I missed you so much," and placed a kiss on my forehead.
"I missed you even more! Why didn't you tell me you were coming to New York?"
"Well then it wouldn't be a surprise, would it?" he smirked.
I hugged him once again, this time making the hug last a little longer. I can't even begin to explain how much I missed his hugs and being in his presence. He's my greatest blessing.
*Calum's POV*
Tatum was just as beautiful as she was the last time I saw her, if not more. We just finished up our tour and instead of staying in LA like usual, the guys and I decided to stay in New York, mainly for Tatum. Tatum is about a month into her freshman year at Columbia and this is the perfect time to be with her. I have a while off before the next tour. For about a month we just have off time, and then we'll be starting back up with writing at the studio here in NYC.
I was able to surprise her successfully with help from her roommate, Maddy. Maddy told me that Tatum finished this class at seven, which was perfect considering my plane landed at six thirty. I was sitting on the steps of the building when Tatum came out. She actually walked right past me without realizing.
"How does dinner sound?" I asked her, interlacing our fingers as we began walking down the street.
"It sounds great, I'm starving." she then suggested we just eat at my place because she was extremely tired.
So we walked to the apartment the boys and I are renting. It was a nice penthouse in downtown with a gorgeous city view, something I knew Tatum would love. Which was the main reason I suggested this apartment to the boys. I wanted to be living somewhere Tatum would love so that if she ever got sick of that tiny dorm room, she'd have a nice downtown apartment to stay at anytime.
The boys were super excited to see Tatum, and so was she. After they all exchanged hellos and hugs, I lead Tatum into the kitchen. As she sat down on one of the stools at the island, I asked her what she wanted.
She clapped her hands, excited like a little kid. "Mac and cheese!"
I chuckled, "Mac and cheese it is, m'lady."
Tatum giggled and began to tell me how her last class was as I cooked. "That professor is literally killing me, I'm telling you Cal! He's even more strict than my mother!"
"I'm sure you'll do fine in his class, babe."

"Don't go," I whined as Tatum got up from the couch.
It's now nearly midnight. We had spent the last few ours eating mac and cheese and watching Saved By The Bell, our favorite show, from the beginning for the second time. We love that show. It's been so much fun with Tatum, and I'm so glad we're back together and have a long time together this time. Normally we only see each other for a week at a time, so I'm really happy that we have a couple months together now.
