|tatum|a couple months later|
I stood in the large body mirror, making sure I looked perfect. My long maroon dress and styled hair looked great. Tonight, Jack, Luke's brother, and Celeste are getting married! Celeste, Mali, and I have become really close and Mali and I were asked to be bridesmaids. We were both really excited and of course said yes.
"Like a princess," Calum's voice scared me, making me jump. He chuckled and joined me at the mirror. He wrapped his arms around my waist and rested his chin on my head.
It's been a few months since I went to Sydney to spend the holidays with Cal and his family. We have had a crazy few months. The boys released a new album, their third one. I'm still at Columbia and changed my major from prelaw to journalism, which I'm so much happier with. I'm interning at the New York Times and also published a book recently which has been a hit! The book is called 'Story of Us,' and is a story about a young girl meeting a boy and falling infinitely in love with him. Cliche, but everyone who has read it and knows about Calum and I can tell it's basically our love story with some changes. The book has become really popular and I am starting a book tour next week, which I'm so stoked for.
"Calum? Tatum? We're taking places," Luke peeked his head through the door. We nodded and followed him out of the room.
A few minutes later, we had all walked down the isle and Celeste and Jack were stood in front of each other. As the preacher spoke and as the two of them spoke their vows, I tried to pay attention. But Calum kept on distracting me, as I could feel his eyes on me the whole time. So for the rest of the time him and I looked at each other with big smiles.

"You wanna take a walk?" Calum had asked me later on during the reception. People were dancing, eating deserts, drinking wine, laughing, etc.
I nodded and stood up from my seat, where we had previously been talking with the guys. Cal and I walked hand in hand outside of the hotel in which the reception was being held. It was a fall night in Australia. I'm still getting used to the fact that it's the opposite season here from the US. The sun had already set and it was a little chilly out, but not too bad.
"That was a beautiful wedding," I stated, looking at the city surrounding me.
"I know. Hopefully that can be us someday," when he said this, I felt massive butterflies in my stomach. I looked up at him and he had a big grin on his lips.
I nodded and squeezed his hands. "Hopefully."
We walked in silence for a little bit until he spoke up again. "Since I could remember, my grandpa always told me to marry the girl that makes my heart race every time she walks in the room." I looked up at him with a confused look, wondering where the sudden conversation had came from. "He said to marry my best friend, it would bring a lifetime full of adventures and happiness. My grandpa had all these little rules for marriage. He used them and found my grandma, and they just celebrated 60 years together. My dad used them and him and my mom have been married for 20 years."
"Yeah?" I simply said, a small smile on my lips. I liked where this conversation was going.
"Yeah," he paused and stopped walking. He stood in front of me and was about to say something, but stopped, and took off his jacket, holding it out in front of him. "Here, take my coat. It's cold out, wouldn't want you to catch a cold my lovely."
I giggled and he helped me put the tux jacket on. "How do I look?" I posed dramatically with the big jacket and my dress.
"Like a billion dollars."
I smiled and wrapped my arms around his neck, kissing his lips patiently but shortly.
"Tatum, I've listened to my grandfathers rules. I've found the girl who makes my heart race, I've found my best friend."
"Is it me?"
He laughed. "It's you," he then reached into the pocket of his pants, pulling out a small red box. As he got down on one knee, I covered my mouth with my hands and felt my heart start to race at a million miles per hour. "Since the day we started DM'ing, I knew I had found the most amazing girl in the world. I've never been more sure about anything than I am about you. You are the love of my life, the one I want to spend the rest of my life with."
I was speechless. I had tears streaming from my eyes, but good tears. "Tatum, I know we're young but I also know that I'm making the right decision right now. Tatum Shepherd, will you marry me?"
"Yes, yes! A million times yes, Calum!" I exclaimed jumping up and down. He smiled largely and shakily placed the beautiful ring on my finger, it fit perfect. He quickly stood up after that and picked me up, spinning me around.
People walking around had stopped to watch us and they were now clapping. It was the perfect moment and I wouldn't change a thing.
I'm engaged to my best friend, the love of my life, my soulmate, Calum Hood.
