"We're hell raising and we don't need saving 'cause there's no salvation for a bad girl."

Harley crosses her arms as she leans against the far wall of Wanda's bedroom. The Sokovian girl had been glued to the television, hanging onto every word spoken about their mission in Lagos. Though the mission had taken place over a month ago, the criticism never wavered.

Many of The Avengers had tried to get Wanda's mind off of the incident, but the guilt she felt overpowered any other emotion. Her guilt was worsened when Harley made an in-bad-taste joke about Wanda trying to surpass Harley's body count.

"What legal authority does an enhanced individual like Wanda Maximoff have to operate in Nige-" The newscaster was cut off and the TV screen went black. Harley turns to see Steve standing in the doorway, setting the TV's remote down on one of Wanda's dressers.

"It's my fault." Wanda says, not bothering to look up.

"That's not true." Steve assures her instantly.

"Well..." Harley chuckles awkwardly, scrunching up her face.

"Harleen." Steve gives her a stern look, shaking his head subtly.

"She's right. Turn the TV back on. They're being very specific."

"We shouldn't have let you deal with that on your own." Steve replies, walking over to sit on the edge of the bed. "Rumlow said 'Bucky' and all of a sudden I was sixteen year old kid again in Brooklyn. People died. It's on me."

"Then it's on all of us." Harley cuts in, sending Steve a nod of support.

"This job... we try to save as many people as we can, but that doesn't mean everyone." Steve directs his words at Wanda, and a watery smile makes its way onto Harley's face, remembering a time when Steve said the exact same thing to her.

Two heads turn to the left when a buzzing sound is heard as Vision walks through the wall, and through Harley.

"Dude, what the fuck?!" Harley's voice cracks as she screams. The sensation of Vision passing through her body leaves her severely uncomfortable.

"Vis, we talked about this." Wanda tells him pointedly.

"Yeah, 'Vis', we fucking talked about this!"

"The door was open so I assumed..." Vision trails off. "Captain Rogers wished to know when Stark was arriving."

"Thank you." Steve nods. "We'll be right down."

"I'll uh, use the door." Vision nods back, giving Harley a short glance. "Oh, and apparently he's brought a guest."

"You know who it is?"

"The Secretary of State." Vision says simply, and walks out the door.

"That's one hell of a guest." Harley scoffs.

Harley, Wanda, Sam, Steve, Natasha, and Rhodey sit around a table in the conference room and wait for Secretary Ross to deliver what Harley assumes is bad news. Tony is sat behind Steve in a corner, his body tense and hunched over.

"A few years ago, I had a heart attack and dropped right in the middle of my game." Secretary Ross begins. "Turns out it was the best round of my life, because after thirteen hours of surgery and a triple bypass, I found something that forty years in the army never taught me. Respective."

The lack of care Harley has for the old white mans story is shown through her struggle to keep her eyes from rolling and a stifled yawn.

"The world owes the Avengers an unpayable debt." He continues. "You have fought for us, protected us, risked your lives. But while a great many people see you as heroes, there are some who would prefer the world vigilantes." The last word was directed at Harley, who glares at the man and crosses her arms over her chest in defiance and insecurity.
