"Walking on a plane as I hold my breath. It's gonna be weeks till I breathe again."

Slumped over in a dark corner of Peter's bedroom, Harley's eyes scan all the trinkets and photographs littering the walls and floor. The young boys clothes are thrown around the room as if a tornado had passed through the small space. A sad smile graced Harley's lips.

'He must've had a hard time trying to decide what to pack for Germany.' She thought to herself, shaking her head fondly at the thought of Peter stressing over what to wear to meet his- no, fight his idols.

Harley's thoughts are interrupted as the bedroom door swings open and the boy in question rushes in, tripping over the mess he had created. His sweatshirt is halfway off of his body as he struggled to get it over his head. When he manages to pull it off, he throws it into one of the many piles of clothes around the room. Peter sits on his bed and pulls his phone out of his jeans pocket, tapping and scrolling for a few second before lifting the device to his left ear.

A chorus of chimes ring out from Harley's jacket pocket.

Turning around fast enough to give himself whiplash, Peter falls off his bed and sends a stream of webs towards Harley, pinning her upper body to the blue walls.

"Harley?" He asks incredulously, eyes wide with adrenaline.

"Parker." She nods at him, trying to hide her smile.

"Sorry about that. Really didn't expect you to be here." He apologizes, rushing over to help her out of her webbed prison. "What are you doing here? How did you get here? Are you okay? What happened?"

"One question at a time Spider-Boy." Harley chuckles, overwhelmed at the presence of the boy she loves.

With her arms finally free, she helps Peter take the rest of the webbing off of her body. She inspects the strings in her hands, marveling at the technology created by the teenage boy in front of her. Peter invites her to sit on his bed, the two of them sit cross legged in front of each other.

"So..." Harley breathes. "Where do I start?"

"What happened after Mr. Stark sent me home? Where did you go?"

"We had to make sure Steve and Bucky made it out, so we sacrificed ourselves for them. After they had taken off and Tony sent you packing, we were immediately detained by the German government. They took us to... the raft." Harley cringes at the memories made there only days ago.

"What's the raft?" Peter asks, noticing the brown eyed girls discomfort.

"In short, it's basically a prison for enhanced persons. It's high security, made out of a strong metal called adamantium, and it submerges completely underwater, somewhere in the middle of the ocean, not exactly sure which one."

"Sounds extreme."

"Very." Harley whispers, her hand coming up to rub her neck over the black turtleneck she's wearing. She used fabric tape to stick the shirt to her skin. She didn't want to risk Peter seeing the burns and going into a fit.

"How'd you get out?" Peter asks her, taking one of her hands in his own.

"Steve came back for us. Of course he did. We had to leave Scott and Clint behind, they have families and they would be better off cutting a deal with the United Nations."

The two teenagers sit in silence for a few moments. A tense atmosphere lingers.

"So what happens now, to you?"

Harley looks into the intense brown eyes of her love, the worry shining through so clearly.

"We have to run. Hide. Were wanted criminals now. If they find us they'll send us back to the raft, or worse."

"Hide where?" Peter asks slowly, prolonging the answer he doesn't want to have to hear.

"Everywhere, nowhere. We gotta be on the move constantly, never stay in one place for too long."

"A-and what about... us?"

Harley looks into his sad brown eyes and gives him a watery smile, tears welling into her own sad brown eyes.

"No matter how far apart, no matter how long we're apart," She sobs out, "you will always be my one and only, Peter Parker. I will never give up on us."

Tears began to stream out of Peter's eyes like a broken faucet. He grabbed Harley and pulled her into the most passionate and intense hug they've ever had.

"Please, don't leave me." He begged.

"I will never leave you, Pete." She promises him. "Nothing will ever tear us apart, I promise you that. I will do everything in my power to make sure that we're okay."

Peter wipes his wet nose on his sleeve before childishly closing his fist and extending his pinkie. Harley smiles at the gesture, wrapping her own pinkie around his.

"You'll see me again, both you and May. The two of you are my family. I will never leave you behind."

"And we'll never leave you behind." Peter whispers, lips wet from his tears.

"I will see you again, Peter Benjamin Parker. I swear it. I will cross oceans and skies in a night to be with you for even five minutes."

"I'll do the same, no matter what it takes. You know that."

"I do, I do know that."

The two teenagers lean in, their foreheads resting against each other for a moment before their quivering lips meet. The salty taste of their tears mix together in a watery dance. The kiss is filled with the most passion and sadness the two have ever felt in their young lives. When they pull apart, the empty space between them is instantly flooded with the love and lust that they will not be able to share again for some time.

After their hands have slowly let go of each other, the atmosphere is filled with a love so strong it could bend time and space. The eccentric girl with her colorful hair and ambiguous morals has said a silent goodbye to the doe eyed boy with the kindest smile and the most intelligent mind.

Their eyes meet for a final time before the door is shut between them, not knowing when it will be open again.
