XI | Treason

Percy POV

"You can't escape from us Percy, the Romans and the Greeks will be looking for you!" Was the last thing me and Thalia heard before leaving the camp, I kept the flames just in case if any camper was tailing us. I wonder what is the mist making all this fire look like to the people, because no one is reacting.

As soon as we started climbing the hill I felt that something was wrong, and by judging the look Thalia just gave me I think she felt it too, "Are you feeling the same thing?" I asked her to make sure, she responded with a nod then got her bow ready to shoot and I uncapped Riptide. But no weapon would save me from what I saw, when we reached to the top we didn't find anyone neither Annabeth nor the Hunters.

Instead we found a note, I quickly ran to it and started reading, I reread it three times before I could grasp what it said. "Can you read it out loud?" asked Thalia, who was probably intrigued by the sudden change of my expression, I shake my head signifying that I can't read it, and gave her the note to read it herself.

Thalia POV

As we climbed the hill I had a strange feeling in my gut, the same one I feel when I'm in battle right before someone tries to kill me, and by looking at Percy I knew he felt it too, "Are you feeling the same thing?" he asked me, and I just a nodded then got my bow ready to shoot and Percy uncapped Riptide. But when we reached to the top we didn't find anyone neither friend nor enemy.

Instead we found a note lying on the ground in the place of Annabeth, before I even think about going to it Percy quickly ran and started reading it. "Can you read it out loud?"  I asked him after noticing his sudden change expression, but he only responded with shaking his head, and gave me the note to read it myself.

The note said: 'Perseus Jackson this will be the last time you wreck our hotel, but this time you will pay dearly. After your last visit we allied ourselves with Tartarus because he promised that we will have the honor of spilling your blood and your girlfriend's blood over his pit, which will make him rise more powerful than any of your puny gods. We have your girlfriend if you want to be with her before she dies you better hand your self in, we will be near the pit of Tartarus. We Will Be Waiting.

After reading it I felt as if I was hollow from inside, I thought that nothing could make me more devastated and vengeful, that was until I saw the blond lock of hair that was taped to the bottom of the letter, I took the lock off of the letter and tied it around my wrist as if it was a bracelet, so I could always remember what they did to her, and I took an oath on myself "I swear on the river Styx that I will cut out their throats even if this was the last thing I do!" Thunder rumbled in the distance signifying that the deal was sealed.
