Emma lay on her back while she stared up at the ceiling. Chocolate chips and fries lay next to her on the couch, and from the pained looked on face it looked like someone was stabbing her in the stomach.
Yeah it was that time of the month again. By now Killian knew why she behaved so strange since his talk with David a few months ago. To say he was still traumatized was understated.
But now he knew how to treat her, so the first thing he did a few months ago was to mark that time with a big cross.
And he knew all sorts of things now; what she wanted to eat, to hold and sooth her when she was crying, to back off and agree with her when she's angry.
And he would always remember the last one. Don't provoke a woman when she's on her period, he had to learn it the hard way.
So when he looked at the calender yesterday and saw the cross, he immediately ran to the market and bought all kinds of food and filled the bathroom cupboards with, well, you know what I mean.
And of course it was no surprise when Emma lay on the couch the next morning, crying over something in this thing they call a movie and eating three kinds of cookies at the same time.
He sighed before walking over to the couch, bracing himself.
"Emma ,darling,. . . ," he trailed of and took her in his arms. She sobbed for a few moments before grabbing the remote and shut the tv off.
"I don't like this movie anymore. Everything is just sad and shitty. And why are all the cookies gone?! I diddn't eat them all!," she looked at him through narrowed eyes as if she's asking 'did you eat them?'.
He held up his hands innocently and saw her eyes becoming glassy again.
Suddenly she cried out and screamed into a pillow before running to the bathroom and slamming the door shut.
Killian Jones faced many things in his long life; kraken, pirates, sirens. But he will always be afraid of a women who was on her period. And let's face it, who isn't?
