"Thanks, but..." June said. "It's okay. I wasn't that hungry anyway." I said. "C'mon, its really good. Try it." I added. "Oh, alright then. But its only because I'm starving and happen to have skipped breakfast today." June said. She picked up the chopsticks and and had some ramen. "Holy cow! This is the best!" June exclaimed. "I'm glad you like it!" I smiled.
The bell rang signifying that the lunch period has concluded. As I was walking to class, Michael came next to me. "Hey!" he said. "What now?" I said, expecting something ridiculous from Michael. "You forgot your notebook, dummy." Michael said. "Oh--uh thanks." I said, surprised. After class, Michael and I returned to the dormitory. "I am so glad the day is over. Today was exhausting." I said, throwing myself on the bed.
"Yeah, because you were sweating all over the place around June! Hahaha." Michael teased. "Whatever, man. I don't even care anymore. Joke and tease however much you want. It won't affect me at all." I said, my voice muffled by the pillow. "... Hey! Don't drop dead yet! You still got Geometry homework, sleepyhead!" Michael yelled. "Huh? Alright, fine." I said, half awake.
"... Phew! Finally done." I said relieved. "And now I'll copy your homework and that saves me the trouble!" Michael said, happily content. I felt that I needed to clear my mind, so I went for a walk. As I was walking by the corridor, I heard a familiar voice through the wall. "... Him? He's not even that hot! What exactly do you see in him?" said a somewhat distasteful voice. "... Everything you don't." June said. My eyes grew wide.
Everything you don't...? Uh...Well, it could be anyone, right? I thought to myself quietly. I went for a walk to clear my mind, but returned to the dormitory with my mind feeling anything but clarity. The next day, I got to the school courtyard pretty early with Michael. I sat under a tree to read a book since all the benches were taken. "Hey bookworm, what are you reading?" June asked. "Oh hi June!" I said as a walnut fell on my head (apparently it was a walnut tree). "... Oh! I'm reading 'Until The Morning' by Eve." I added, noticing June was waiting for an answer.
"I heard that's a New York Times Best Seller." June said. "It sure deserved it too. Its almost like a movie!" I responded. "What's up?" Michael interrupted. "Hmm? Who's this?" June asked. "June, this is my room mate, Michael. "Michael Cote, nice to meet you!" Michael said as he shakes June's hand.
