7 and a half months later...

Andrew, Michael, and June have been friends throughout the school year. And with the final exams coming up, the teenage trio doesn't know what to expect.

"So, do you have any idea on how the test is gonna be like?" Michael asked. "No clue. Not even the teachers know! Or, at least they say the don't." June answered. June's right. You could ask any teacher in the school, and they would say "I'm not sure about this year" or throw around the occasional shrug. "ATTENTION STUDENTS, THIS IS A REMINDER THAT FINAL EXAMS BEGIN THIS AFTERNOON AT 3:30 pm. UNTIL THEN, CLASS IS CANCELED AND STUDY HALL IS IN EFFECT." the loud speaker announced.

"Don't sweat it. I'm sure it won't be that bad." Michael said, noticing I was nervous. "Plus, we have lots of time to study! Its only 8:50!" June chimed in. Well, in that case, let's go! To the library!" I exclaimed as I pulled June's hand and pointed in the direction of the library. June blushed and chuckled as she was running behind me. "Hey! Wait up!" Michael shouted as he ran to catch up. When we got to the library, it was pretty much vacant since we were the first students there.

"Where are all the labels? How are we supposed to find what we need?" Michael asked, short of breath. "I guess that's what time is for...?" June said unsurely. I decided to look in the back because I thought I saw a science book to review back there. The back was kind of dusty and looked like nobody bothered to even look here. Then, a dusty old binder full of files caught my eye.

Inside it were yearly purchase documents, old articles, and other important files that belong to the school. "Guys, take a look at this." I whispered loudly. "What kind of school buys airtight tubes and liquid nitrogen? The chemistry labs don't have these items at all. Its not even in the curriculum..." June said softly, but concerned. "Yeah... And look at this... The water and energy bills are through the roof. No school uses this much water." Michael added. "April 26, 1994. Several students attending Everest Academy suddenly go missing. Families are devastated..." I read aloud quietly from an old article. "What is this school hiding?" I whisper.

"Look!" June said aloud, followed by the shushes of other students in the library. "Sorry..." June whispered, her cheeks red. She pointed at a small footnote at the bottom of the old newspaper:

----------------------------------------------
Upon finding this hidden newspaper and school cost summary, I can now say for sure this school has something sinister to hide.
There isn't much time until I too might become largely involved... As a victim.
J. Keller, 1996.
