AN: did i say this chapter was going to be the first date? well I LIED

The city lights of downtown Portland made the sky glow. With all the lights off in the Pines apartment, you could probably count every one of them. The television gave the apartment a faint glow, and Mabel didn't mind. She liked these moments of being by herself with the remote in hand. It was...peaceful. Especially when calming her nerves, which she was experiencing two times the normal amount. The windows were open, making the apartment smell like the flowers from the man next door. Usually the flowers helped with Mabel's nerves, but not this time. Since four hours ago, Mabel hasn't heard anything from Dipper. Not one thing.

"Must be enjoying himself," she snickered at the thought. Her brother wasn't that much of an idiot to not realize this guy had a thing for him. Or maybe hangovers last longer than she thought. Mabel snuggled in her ladybug blanket and sighed as the show changed from a romcom to a mystery.

That's when Mabel heard the thump. She jumped up from her seat and turned around. The kitchen wall was banged again. The kitchen wall was the one connected to the hallway of the apartment complex, but it still worried her. What if it was Dipper? He often got into fights with the two boys across the hall.

Mabel slowly crawled over the couch toward the kitchen and grabbed a frying pan and tiptoed toward the door. She looked through the peephole to see her brother and the bartender. Bill, she thought. Except, Bill had Dipper on the wall and was whispering something in Dipper's ear that Mabel couldn't make out. But when Dipper's face went from pale to dark crimson, Mabel got the idea. She squinted to see Dipper holding his keys. Mabel saw this as a good time to run.

She sprinted from the door and rolled over onto the couch just as Dipper unlocked the door.

"Hey Mabel," he called as he set his keys on the counter and turned on the light.

Mabel turned toward him and saw he was alone. He must have declined the blonde's tempting offer.

"Hey dude, how was your date?" She curled herself back into the blanket as her brother walked over and sat next to her.

He rolled his eyes. "Not a date," he groaned. "It was more like...hanging out, you know?"

If hanging out meant whispering sex talk in ears than yeah, Mabel thought, but she held her tongue.

"You guys going to do it again?" She asked, her left hand placed on Dipper's phone.

He didn't notice. "Yeah probably," he responded as he sunk farther into the couch.

"Oh that's good, I do hope to meet him." Her hand was completely clasped around the phone and Dipper didn't see it.

"Yeah you should he's cool..." His voice drifted off as his eyelids closed. A few minutes later, he was snoring.

Mabel grabbed the phone and stuck it in her sweatpants pocket as she put her blanket on her brother. She quickly scampered off to her room to investigate the phone and text messages. She just HAD to know what happened tonight.

Mabel pushed her door open then closed it lightly, making sure to lock it before she jumped on to her bed. She unlocked the phone easily(Dipper never changed his passcode) and scanned through his Snapchat. He blocked her from seeing his story because of...reasons. No pictures of the two of them except one of the food they ate. She exited Snapchat and went to contacts. Bill's name was there, but nothing more. Now time for the juicy stuff: text messages.

The brunette felt no guilt as she scanned through the text messages between Bill and Dipper, which she found very interesting. Most of the conversation was planning and figuring out the movie. But some was flirting, from none other than Dipper himself. She screenshotted the conversations and quickly sent them to her own phone, and deleted them off Dip's phone. She quietly went out to the kitchen and placed the smartphone on the counter, still hearing the quiet snores coming from the couch.

"You'll thank me later," she whispered in the dark as she tiptoed back to her room.

....................................

Regret was the one thing Dipper woke up with. Regret of not taking Bill's offer, regret of not telling Mabel the truth, regret that he drank 5 tequila shots last night. Mostly regret for the third one. Dipper covered his mouth with his hand as he quickly stumbled over to the bathroom and fell in front of the toilet, puking his heart out.

"Dipper? You okay bro-bro?" Mabel's voice echoed in Dipper's ear as he held his head above the ring of the toilet.

"Feeling great," he muttered sarcastically, and once again, vomited.

He really needed to stop getting drunk near this guy.

Mabel walked into the bathroom, a wash cloth at hand as she lifted Dipper's face off and cleaned it.

"I'm assuming you guys did more than just got dinner and went to a movie?" Her voiced rang through Dipper's ears.

"That assumption is correct." He groaned into the toilet bowl.

"Dipper, if you're gonna keep hanging around this guy, you need better alcohol tolerance."

"Shut up."
