"In recent news: the wanted fugitive, Katie Frost, has struck again. Covering 5th Avenue in a mound of snow. At the site was head of the police unit, Gared Ironheart. Also at the scene was novice officer, Neal Wattson, who was mysteriously found frozen on the roof of the crime scene, along with a bullet he supposedly shot at the perpetrator. After he was thawed out he agreed to an interview, and this is what he said." (the scene switches from the reporter to video footage of officer Wattson.) "Sh-She's a monster! A witch! A demon! Whatever she is, she ain't no human that's for sure!" (The scene switches back to the reporter) "Well there you have it, any information on this girl will be highly rewarded by the NYPD. This was Jamie Gruwell on NYNews, and as always, see you next time." The TV switches off.

"What bull! I understand witch, but demon, really?! Man, what can a girl with ice powers do to have some fun around here?" said Katie. She was laying sideways on a couch in a quaint little room. All that occupied the room was the TV, the couch, a coffee table, a mini-fridge, and a mattress. "And where is she? She should be back with the grub by now." Katie looked at her non-existent watch with impatience. Then someone knocked at the door, Katie walked up to it and waited. "If it really is her, then she should know what to do." she thought to herself. Then there was a "thump" and Katie blacked out. She woke up still standing in front of the door, except it was open and a young girl with blond hair stood outside with a 7-Eleven bag in her hand.

"Do I really have to do that everytime?" the girl asked, she let herself in and locked the door behind her.

"You know it's for both our safeties Alice." said Katie, "Did you get the grub?"

"Yeah, cashiers are a cinch to wash" said Alice. She walked over to the coffee table, sat on one side, and put the bag down. She reached into the bag and pulled out two hot dogs wrapped in tinfoil. "Bon apetit."

Katie sat on the other side of the table and took a bite out of her hotdog, "I still can't get over these mind powers you have, they're amazing! I'm so happy I have someone to relate to besides Gared in this mess of a world." she said with her mouth full. "It's like we were meant to be together."

"Yeah, okay." said Alice sarcastically, "But I have a feeling that you, Gared, and I aren't the only people with special powers around here."
