The hologram wiped out, "And that was how magic came to be." said Merrick.
Katie and Merrick were sat on a red couch in a dim candle-lit room. "So if I'm the Light Lord of this generation, then my mom was the last Light Lord?" said Katie, ignoring the story and getting straight to the point.
"Well, yes. But what about the start of magic, wasn't that interesting?"
"Yeah, sure. So all I need to do is find my dad, then ask around for this Light Lord, then I can come back to Alice."
"About that, if my assumption is correct then you are not only a Light Lord, but the Light Lord."
"The Light Lord? You mean the prophesied generation?"
"Yes, an-"
Katie jumped out of her seat in excitement. "So that means my dad is the Dark Master! Man, finding my dad will be a cinch!" she interrupted.
"Yes, that's all good but-"
"Don't worry Alice, I'll save you in no time." she was not listening to Merrick at all.
Merrick stomped his foot on the ground. "WILL YOU LISTEN?!" demanded Merrick.
Katie jumped, scrunched up, and rigidly turned around with a crooked smile, "Yes?".
Merrick cleared his throat, "You might be happy to find out that your parents are famous and all, but what will you do when you find them?"
"After I find them? Then I'll save Alice of course."
"What of your parents. Don't you want to know why they left you in New York?"
"Well sure I do, but I can't just sit around having a family reunion while Alice is in danger. Besides what do you know?"
"Oh, I know more than you'd think dearie." said Merrick, he smirked and looked the other way.
"Fine then Rumpelstiltskin, enlighten me."
"First of all, you know why your parents left you in New York in the first place? It was your mum's idea."
"My mom? But isn't she the Light One, the 'epitome of light and all that is good?'"
"Every light has a bit of darkness, your mother believed that the choice to destroy the Earth was too powerful, thus she separated you from your brother, the Dark Master."
"Welp, I'll be happy to give her a scolding after I save Alice. Now, Derrick, where's our next stop?"
Merrick put on a annoyed scowl, "It's Merrick, and we are going to meet with my associates." he said. It looked like he expected something to happen.
"Associates?"
"Yes, ready?" Merrick stood up.
"Sure" Katie said wearily.
"Good" Merrick swiped his hands up and the candles where blown out. Leaving the room pitch black.
