"I can't see hardly anything." Maria snapped, sipping her green mojito.
"I think that's a small price to pay for everyone in this club keeping their lives." Anna snorted in response.
"Can't you do some spell to make things brighter?" She sighed.

Anna rolled her eyes at her friend, the gorgon had to wear sunglasses to prevent herself from turning the entire club into stone.
"I could, if you let me look after Medusa this weekend." She bargained. The snake around the woman's neck hissed at the mention of her name.
"Fine, whatever." The gorgon gave in. Anna waved her hand and soon Maria was grinning.

"Don't be too obvious, but I see a guy who's totally your type over there." She smirked, Anna craned her neck.
"Where?"
"Tall, longish brown hair and matching ears." She giggled. Anna soon spotted him, he was almost certainly a werewolf.

And stood next to him was a man that she was certain would catch Maria's eye, who realised she was staring, turned and spotted her. She jerked her head back to Maria.
"Ok he's with someone who has your name written all over him but I don't know what he is." Anna babbled.
"Yeah I think they're coming over." The two straightened up and pretended they didn't see the men approaching.

"Little dark for sunglasses ain't it?" The girls turned to face the males, Maria was right, the werewolf really was cute. He had a sweet face and a muscular body. His friend, who up close was still fairly ambiguous looking in terms of his species. There was a hissing sound coming from Maria's direction, Medusa had reared her head.

The snake was glaring angrily at the shorter man. 'Ah, he's a vampire.' Anna thought. Gorgons had a bad history with the blood sucking creatures of the night.
"If you'd like to become a statue then I'll take them off." Maria sneered.

"You can keep me in your bedroom." The vampire suggested flirtatiously. Medusa hissed even louder.
"Dean!" The taller man elbowed his friend, embarrassed by his forwardness.
"Your snake doesn't like me much." The man chuckled.

Maria nodded.
"That makes the two of us."
"Hey no need for racism."
"Don't worry, get another snake on the rocks in her and you could be a Minotaur." Anna shook her head.

The two men laughed. The werewolf held out a hand to Anna.
"Sam, this is my friend Dean." He introduced them shaking both girls' hands. Dean followed suit, taking longer to shake Maria's hand to irritate her.

The four broke into separate and very different conversations, Sam and Anna's went as follows.

"This might be a little forward but I was wondering if I could buy you a drink." He offered, smiling bashfully. There was no way Anna was going to say no to this adorable werewolf.
"Sure." She smiled back, and the two got to chatting, as civilised adults do.

Maria and Dean's conversation however, went like this;
"Wanna dance with a vampire?" He smirked.
"No."
"Damn, there's no misinterpreting that." Dean replied, a little wide eyed with surprise.

It didn't take long for Maria to get up and ask for another drink and for Sam to steal her seat.
"Ok, I see how it is." She quipped, Anna ignored her and continued her conversation with Sam.
"Guess you're stuck with me." Dean grinned.

"You guess wrong." She replied bluntly. Dean was quiet for a moment, studying the difficult woman in front of him.
"Let me make a bet with you." She raised an eyebrow curiously.
"Shoot." She said.

"Gorgons can look people they like in the eye without turning them to stone right?" The second he finished the statement, Maria could see where it was going.
"You're not the first person to suggest what you're about to suggest and let me tell you it didn't end well for them."

Dean's cocky smile grew even wider.
"All the more reason to try." The two stared each other down for a moment, then shook hands.
"You're on, sucker."

Anna noticed the strange exchange going on between her friend and Dean before they disappeared onto the dance floor.
"That looks suspicious." Anna muttered.
"They made a bet." Sam laughed.

She cocked her head in confusion.
"And how do you kn- oh." She halted her sentence when Sam tapped his ears, a small smile creating dimples in his cheeks. "I know you probably get it all the time but that is seriously cool." Anna complimented.

"Dean bet he could make Maria like him." Sam explained.
"Oh God. You should probably talk him out of that, it's been tried before and the victims were less than successful." Anna groaned. Sam simply flashed her a toothy grin.
"I got that when you used the word 'victims' to describe them."

The pair shared a laugh.
"Don't underestimate Dean, he can be an ass but he's a charmer."
"You seem like you've been friends a long time?" She asked.
"Yeah, since I can remember. Our parents were close." He told her.

Anna was surprised by this, it was unusual for vampires and werewolves to be friends, it was slowly becoming a more common occurrence but only in recent times.
"So I guess you guys are like brothers then huh?"
"Yeah, when he's not being annoying he can be a good wingman." Sam admitted.

"You seem pretty confident." Anna observed, Sam's cheeks flushed a light pink.
"Well... I was actually trying to work up the nerve to talk to you since I got here." He replied, scratching the back of his head in embarrassment. Anna didn't know to respond, quite frankly she felt as if she might melt into a puddle.

"That's... That's actually really sweet." She said, knowing full well she was just as red as he was.
"I don't wanna seem too fast here, but do you think I could take you out sometime?" Anna was speechless, she'd never been so glad that she'd given into Maria's pestering to go to club SPN.

On the dance floor, Dean was telling Maria various anecdotes about his vampire childhood. This was a welcome change from the bombardment of questions Maria usually got about her life as a gorgon. He'd even managed to tickle Medusa's chin, her fatal weakness and now the snake was hissing in pleasure.

He'd managed to distract the snake enough to steal a chaste peck on her owner's lips.
