"Damnit, I can't freaking move my legs in this thing properly." Maria snaps, wiggling her legs around comically in the scarlet, fishtail dress.
"You chose style over mobility my friend, deal with it." Anna chuckles down the phone.
"How's your makeup going?" Maria asks, applying her red lipstick.
"Just gotta finish my eyeliner... And... Done!" Anna informs her.

Their conversation is interrupted.
"Niña! That puto is here to take you on the path to jail!" The voice of Maria's father floats up the stairs. Maria turns to Anna, her expression surprised.
"He's here!" She squeals, "I'll see you there!"
"Oh gosh, that's if Dean makes it out of your house alive. See ya!" Anna hangs up.

Maria slips on her heels then hurries down the stairs, careful not to twist her ankle and consequently break her neck. As it turns out, the stairs were not the danger to her safety. It was the handsome Dean Winchester stood in the hallway in a sleek black suit. She skid to a halt at the bottom of the stairs, jaw hitting the floor. Dean smirks, jingling his keys.
"Ready?"

Without invitation, he steps over the threshold and pulls Maria forward by the hand and hands her a corsage of black flowers.
"Black as your soul sweetheart." He grins as she puts it on. Her father simply shakes his head, then folds his arms menacingly when the pair go to leave.
"Have her back by midnight, if you want to keep all your body parts." He scowls.

"Yeah, yeah." Dean says dismissively, dragging Maria from the house.
"And no drinking!" Mr. Ramirez yelled out the door.
"Bye papa!" Maria calls sweetly as the teens get in the Impala. "You really need to watch your mouth, he just about let you take me to prom, Dean." She sighs once seated on the passenger side.

Dean rests a daring hand on her thigh, despite still being parked outside her house.
"You know it was always gonna be me taking you, whether he okayed it or not." He replies cockily, starting the car. "Commencing mission prom." He grins, turning the music up loud and flying away from the kerb.
"I'm in so much trouble when I get home." Maria face palms.

At the Gao household, a similar scene was unfolding. Anna paces back and forth in her hallway, waiting for Sam Winchester to pick her up.
"He'll be here, don't worry!" Anna's mom reassures her, coming out from the living room. Right on cue, there's a knock on the door. She rushes to answer, managing to stay steady in her shoes.

When she opens the door, she is greeted by Sam, looking drop dead gorgeous in a navy blue suit. He has a rose in one hand and a baby blue corsage in the other that beautifully matches her mid-length, flowing dress. He hands her the rose, then slips the corsage over her wrist.
"You look beautiful." He smiles shyly.

But just as Anna opens her mouth to reply, her father interrupts.
"You are tall! I think we have a lightbulb that needs changing, mind coming in?" Anna groans inwardly at his terrible joke.
"Please do come in, I made tea and dumplings!" It seems Anna's mom has joined the kidnapping attempt, 'time to intervene' she thinks.

"No time, we have to go!" She says before Sam can even think about answering. Anna steps out the door and links her arm in his so she can drag him away.
"Bye mom, bye dad!" And just as she thinks she's made an escape, a new voice sounds from the doorway.
"Hold it!"

"Who's that?" Sam whispers. Anna turns to see her brother standing at the porch, hands resting authoritatively on his hips.
"My little brother." She sighs as he strides towards Sam, looking him up and down.
"Have her home by midnight... Or I'll have to battle you." The boy warns, waggling a finger at Sam, who's eyebrows are raised.
