Bobby welcomed little Dean and Sam inside and waved goodbye to John and Mary.
"Hey boys, how's it goin'?" He asked his honorary nephews.
"Pretty good. Sammy cried in the car." Dean informed him.
"No I didn't!" The younger boy whined.

"Alright alright, let's not fight." Bobby said, ushering the boys into the living room. "Now I got four other kids coming today so ya'll better play nice." Sam nodded excitedly and Dean shrugged.
"What are their names?" Sam asked, bouncing up and down in his seat.

"Well we got Anna, Stiles and Maria who are your age. And then we got Derek who's Dean's age." Dean appeared to stiffen at this, he was always used to being the oldest and didn't like the idea of another boy coming along who was his equal. It meant he couldn't use his 'I'm the oldest.' excuse.

The doorbell rung.
"Ok sit tight boys, just gonna see who that is." Bobby answered and a man in a Guns 'n' Roses t shirt greeted him, he stood with a little girl who he recognised as Anna. "Hey there sweetie!" He smiled at her and she smiled shyly.

After she bid goodbye to her father, he brought her into he living room to meet the brothers.
"Boys this is Anna." Sam perked up instantly. He slid off the couch and held out a hand to her.

"I'm Sam Winchester." She eyed the hand strangely but took it, however she didn't shake it but simply held it. Sam flushed a bright pink. "You're supposed to shake it."
"Oh." It was Anna's turn to blush in, they shook hands exaggeratedly.

"I'm Dean. I'm five which means I'm in charge." Bobby rolled his eyes at the bossy youngster.
"Actually I think you'll find I'm in charge." He corrected, but Dean simply folded his arms indignantly.

The doorbell rung yet again and Bobby left the three children to answer it. Standing at the door was a little girl with curly brown hair and a boy with a mischievous grin. Maria and Stiles had arrived, his father and her mother hugged the children goodbye and rushed them inside so they could go to work.

Bobby remembered Maria's mother mentioning that her daughter was very good friends with Stiles and they'd be attending together. The two appeared confident and didn't need Bobby to introduce them as they marched into the living room hand in hand.

"I'm Maria and this is my best friend Stiles."
"I wanted to say that I'm Stiles!" The boy protested. Maria simply shrugged.
"You should have said it faster." Stiles pouted. Bobby could see Maria and Dean either clashing hard or getting on extremely well.

It didn't shock Bobby in the slightest when Dean jumped down from the sofa and squared up to Maria.
"I'm Dean and I'm 5 so I'm in charge." Maria appeared totally non phased by him.
"No you're not. I don't care if you're 5, I'm in charge."

Bobby had to stifle a laugh when Dean's jaw dropped in shock.
"I don't like you." He snapped.
"Your hair is stupid." She retorted.
"I think so too!" Stiles piped up.

Unfortunately for Bobby, who was enjoying watching the altercation, the doorbell rung one last time and he let a very grumpy 5 year old named Derek in. His mother kissed his cheek and left, Derek promptly wiped his face. He followed Bobby into the living room and stood, watching the other five interact.

"Kids, this is Derek." Derek made no move to introduce himself. Dean puffed his chest out, Maria simply stared at him, Anna and Sam were sitting quietly on the couch and Stiles looked like a deer in the head lights. He ran up to the older boy.
"I'm Stiles." He said, smiling widely at the moody child.

"Derek." He mumbled. Stiles appeared utterly star struck.
"Ok well now that we're all here, why don't we go outside? It's a nice day." Bobby suggested, his large grassy backyard would be ideal for the children to run around in. He led the six out the back door and gestured to the various apparatus scattered around.

"Go nuts." He said. The reactions were hilariously different, Maria and Stiles ran immediately to the miniature house, Sam went to the sand pit with Anna, Dean began kicking a soccer ball around and Derek simply stood still, watching Stiles and Maria. "What's up Derek?" Asked Bobby.

"I want Stiles to be my friend." He muttered.
"Why don't you go play with him? I think he wants to be your friend too." The man tried. Derek shook his head stubbornly. "Alright well you ain't gonna get far with that attitude."

Derek glared at Bobby, then stomped off in the direction of the playhouse. He couldn't help but chuckle at the stubborn child.

When Derek reached the house, Dean, Anna and Sam soon took notice. Was a game going to take place? Maria stood in front of the door, her arms crossed.
"What do you want?" She asked. Stiles peeping out the window, waving at Derek.
"I want to play with Stiles." He said firmly.

Stiles face turned bright pink and he opened the door from behind Maria.
"You can't play with Stiles, he's my best friend." Maria denied.
"Derek can play with us." Stiles interrupted tentatively. Maria stared at him, anger clear on her little face.

Derek charged past her inside the playhouse. He took hold of Stiles' wrist and held on to it.
"You're my best friend now." He said. Dean rushed over.
"I'm playing too!" And with that, Sam and Anna decided they better join in on the fun.

The six children stood awkwardly in the miniature house, Derek gripping Stiles possessively, Anna and Sam looking around at the others expectantly and Dean tapping his foot impatiently. Maria rolled her eyes.
"This is boring!" She complained, the others nodded in agreement.

"Who has an idea for a game?" Sam suggested. Stiles waved his free hand in the air excitedly.
"Families!" He giggled. The children glanced around at each other, waiting for someone to object but no one did.

"I'm the dad." Dean asserted, crossing his arms as if daring anyone to challenge him.
"Then I'm the mom, that makes me in charge." Maria decided, Dean turned his nose up at her.
"The mommy's not in charge, the daddy is!" He protested.

The remaining four watched the argument with great interest.
"In my house there isn't a daddy, my mommy's in charge." Maria reasoned.
"In my house there's no mommy so my daddy's in charge." Stiles piped up. Maria sighed.
"I know Stiles, I've been to your house!"

"In my house both my mommy and daddy are in charge." Anna shrugged indifferently.
"Hands up if you want to do it Anna's way." Sam took charge. Everyone aside from the prospective mother and father raised their hands.
"That's how it is in my house too." Derek added.

Despite being irritated that they had to share power over their three sons and one daughter, the pair gave in.
"Fine. We're married." Maria said finally.
"That's not how it works." Dean contradicted.

"When our mommy and daddy got married mommy wore a dress and a man in a funny outfit made them kiss." Sam explained. Maria stuck her tongue out in disgust.
"But I don't want to kiss Dean! He has silly hair!" She cried. Stiles giggled loudly.
"Well that's too bad. That's how it works." Dean snapped, clearly offended.

Before Maria could protest any more, Dean pecked her quickly on the cheek.
"Nothing you can do now. We're married." She let out a huff and stomped over to a plastic chair, plopping down into it.

"I'm marrying Stiles." Derek announced suddenly and the group turned to look at him in shock.
"Can boys do that?" Sam mused and Maria nodded enthusiastically.
"My mama has two man friends that are married. Some people don't like it but mama says it's ok because they love each other." Maria explained. The other children didn't seem to find any fault in this and agreed.

"But Derek and Stiles can't marry each other if they're brothers." Dean argued. This stumped the children and they all sat in silence.
"Derek can marry Stiles when they're grown up!" Anna suggested and they all whooped in agreement. Derek in the other hand frowned.

"I want to marry Stiles now." The door to the play house opened suddenly.
"Sorry kiddo but the marrying can wait till after snack time!" The kids screamed in excitement and ran from the playhouse at the prospect of food, but Derek never let go of Stiles' hand.

As they reached the back door, Sam turned to Anna.
"Can I marry you in the future, Anna?"
"I'll have to ask my parents but I think so."

Satisfied with her answer, they linked arms and joined the others indoors for juice and cookies.
