A light, classical melody trickled from the piano into the lavish ballroom, bouncing from the curves of the cylindrical ceiling. The party was in full swing, great numbers of important people milling around the gold, white and royal blue tiled floor. They ranged from sergeants to Kings and Queens. They chatted politely with beautiful goblets and flutes of wine and champagne, discussing current events and such. However, there were two people, more specifically two girls, who were not having any fun at all. Princess Maria of Spain and Princess Anna of Nepal.
Princess Anna was seated by a the pianist, watching his skilled hands manipulate the keys. Princess Maria on the other hand was standing by a large, stained glass window, staring out for absolutely anything to entertain her. They had both been very excited to visit the America for the first time with their parents to visit the new royal family that had been appointed there, but so far it was leaving a lot to be desired.
Maria gave up on gazing out at the extensive garden and peered around the ballroom, already the other princesses had made friends and were chatting animatedly, but she didn't like any of them. She'd met most of them at previous soirées and found they were about as pleasant as having a bug fly into ones eye. Repeatedly.
She then spotted Anna. She smiled to herself 'Fantastic, another loner.' She pinched the edges of her dress and lifted it slightly so it didn't drag on the floor and strode over to the other girl. When she reached the shorter Princess' seat, she halted and the other looked up.
"Do you speak English?" She asked. The girl nodded and smiled.
"Princess Anna of Nepal." She introduced herself with a curtsey which Maria returned."Princess Maria of the Land of Boredom." She grinned. Anna stared at her for a second in confusion then chuckled. "Spain really." She rolled her eyes.
"I'm bored too." Anna admitted. Maria drew up a seat and sat beside her, her head in her hands.
"My mother said there'd be Princes and food. That's the only reason I came, so far I haven't seen either." Maria admitted. Anna's eyes widened.
"American Princes?" She clarified, Maria nodded.
"My parents are trying to marry me off." She sighed.Anna smiled knowingly.
"Mine too." They sat in a comfortable silence for a few moments, surveying the room.
"You'd think they'd be early to their own party, not the last to arrive." Maria commented, shaking her head in disapproval. Anna hummed in agreement.
"It is quite embarrassing." Maria looked Anna up and down.
"I love your dress by the way, so much more exciting than everyone else's here." She complimented Anna's traditional Nepalese attire.Anna smiled widely.
"Thank you, it's kind of awkward being one of the only ones not wearing similar clothing to everyone else." Maria nodded in understanding, and went to say something else, but the ballroom doors swung open. In the large doorway stood a beautiful blonde woman who could be none other than Queen Mary Winchester, standing at the side of her husband King John Winchester who had deep brown eyes and a handsome smile. If one wasn't particularly observant, they'd miss the way their smiles were strained, and the nervous glances they were tossing each other's way. They entered the ballroom to reveal that behind them, stood two boys. One looked to be in his early twenties, dirty blond hair slicked back to perfection and dressed in a crisp white shirt, black suit jacket and matching pants. The other appeared to be in his late teens, perhaps seventeen or eighteen and wore a baby blue, silk shirt tucked into his charcoal trousers. His hair was brown like his father's and hung around his jawline.
They were glaring murderously at each other, hands balled into fists as they entered the hall, ignoring the warning stares their parents were sending them.
"They must be the princes." Maria breathed. She was utterly captivated by the older one, his rebellious expression and light freckles, while Anna could draw her eyes away from the younger, whose adorable features contrasted with wise eyes.
