Briar's POV

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
   "47, 48, 49, 50!" I huffed as I finished my pushups. I started to move towards my jumprope when I was interrupted. "Last I checked, two hours in here is not taking it easy, sweetheart." Adrian waltzed toward me with an irritated look on his face. I cocked my head and grinned at him. "Two hours is easy." I paused and looked him up and down before continuing. "Just maybe not for you." I purred as I brushed past him. Grabbing at my wrist and tugging me back, I found him glaring at me. "It's only been two weeks since you were poisoned. You're not making yourself any better by training yourself sick in here everyday. You're not invincible Briar." I rolled my eyes at him.
  "Exactly, I missed two weeks, and I don't train until i'm sick. Also, i'm not so stupid as to think that i'm invincible. I know i'm not, which is all the more reason why I should work towards being the best I can be." I turned away away and started to jump, before the rope was pulled away and I tripped, crashing into Adrian. He glared down at me. "You don't train until you're sick? Really? That's why after three hours in here yesterday you were throwing up? Or why you pushed yourself to such a point of exhaustion that you slept through the night and morning?" I began to protest but he didn't let me get a word in.
  "You're done for today. And tomorrow. And the rest of the week actually." He grabbed at my arm to lead me out, but I was not going down so easily. I pulled my arm away from him. I felt the tension in the room growing. It was thick, like the air before a storm. As we stared each other down the tension between us only grew. It was a moment of anticipation of what would happen next. The darkness in the sky before the first crash of lightning, the eerie silence before the piercing thunder. We were a storm brewing.
  I shoved him as hard as I could. "You do not control me or what I do. I don't know who you think you are-" he grabbed my arm and twisted it behind me as he pinned me into the wall. "I think" he whispered angrily into my ear, "that I am your fiancé, I also think that I control the locks on the doors, so I do control what you do. And I think, no actually, I know, that you have a wedding dress fitting in an hour, that you are going to." He released me and stepped back. "That is, if you remember our deal." He laughed lightly and I spat at him as he walked out. Stopping at the door, he turned back to me. "And don't forget to bring Kaylee." I threw my shoe at him as he laughed at my rage. "Ass!" I yelled after him. I was half ready to chase him down, but I knew I couldn't. He was right; I had stupidly, in my sickness, made another deal with him. I'll go try on dresses if he unlocks the training hall for me to use. You would think I'd have learned about making deals with him by now.
  Leaving the training hall to go to "our" room to change, I wasn't sure if I was more pissed that I had to try on wedding dresses, or that I didn't get a chance to get a good hit in on Adrian's smug face. In my two weeks of being trapped in that bed I was forced to plan our wedding, aka the bane of my existence. The outcome was this; we would be married in some grand ballroom somewhere in this giant hellhole in which I still don't know three quarters of the rooms. The date stays the same, leaving me with only two months now to get out. Kaylee, my failed mission, would be my maid of honor. I would have preferred Clara, but of course she is not here. If she was here than this whole thing wouldn't have been happening. If I hadn't lost, this wouldn't be happening.
  Shaking my head, I thought back to the wedding. Kian, Adrian's "friend", (servant more like it) would be his best man. All of the people here would be coming, which is actually a lot, around two thousand to be exact. This means it would be near impossible to make a run for it on that day, I'd need to get out beforehand. Pinching the bridge of my nose I let out a sigh of frustration as I entered the room. I grabbed the flannel and shorts sitting on the bed and changed quickly before going off to find Kaylee.
