*Dad POV*

Days passed quickly after the talk with Dr. Kreiman, in the blink of an eye, I was already in the meeting, waiting for our other guests. They came into the testing room one by one, checking the place out. Once they settled, I started talking

--Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen--I said, in a loud voice, to make sure I got attention. --I am Toby Raynose, founder and leader of TobyTech.-- I stopped once I saw Dr. Kreiman walking in. I took a deep breath and continued.

--What I am here to present to you is something that is MOST definitely new, and is going to improve life as it is. Now, we all now how war can be, some times, it can't be won, but we still have to stay alive.--I paused for a moment to type a code in the monitor besides me, that made a platform start lifting from the floor, with a crystal case on it. --Now, we can't save everyone, we all know that some lives have to be lost, but that's the thing, just some, not a lot. We have to save as much of our people as we can, so with that, I present to you:
The Bio-Tech slimsuit, or BTS.--

The platform stopped rising, and the crystal case had shown a med size body suit. I looked down at the people that were watching the suit, gasps and looks of intrigued faces filled the room, and I resumed talking.

--The BTS is made out of simple latex, for comfort and, well, style, and coated with a simple ballistic metal, same as it is used on a bullet-proof vest. It has electromagnets on the forearms and lower-leg areas powered by a simple battery, that i desinged myself, for multiple uses, like simple decor or style, or maybe a blade or knife, for self-defense and/or attacks, if other weapons are available.--I got interrupted by Kreiman, with a simple question, that was not so easy to answer.

--All of this is very nice, and very complex indeed, but, when will we see it in action?--He said, making everyone curiously look at me.

--Well, the answer to that is very easy to answer, but it is also slightly complex--I replied.

--Go on, I'm listening--He said ever so calmly.

--Well, you see, even though the suit is virtually indestructible, it might not work every single time. Once the one wearing it is down, an enemy might steal it, so, as a plus, I gave the suit a gene codifier.--I said, making everyone slightly confused.

--What I mean by that is, that once someone wears it, the suit links up with the host, making it only work for one, single, person.--I said, acting kinda proudly.

--Well, once again, that is good, but you haven't answered my question.--said Kreiman, lifting an eyebrow.

--Well, to link with the body, it, practically and indirectly, connects to the brain, and goes on and off when you want it too. A simple glitch in the system might affect the neuro cortex.--I said, making him question it again.

--So, it won't be tested, then?--He said, lifting the eyebrow again.

--Oh, sir, I never said that, I just said that it might be dangerous.--I finished.

--Then, who will test it?--He said, lifting both eyebrows this time.

--I will, it is unfair if anyone has to suffer for a simple mistake I made, so if I made a mistake, I will be the one to discover it.--I said proudly, making everyone gasp in fear.

I took off my lab coat, put a code on the case and it opened, letting me take the suit. I took it, held it in my arms so everyone could see it, then I looked at it myself, and I got a slight shiver, but I continued to put it on. As I finished putting on the BTS, I got into a small room in the testing room. An armed man was waiting for me inside. Once I saw the weapon, my mind flat lined for a second, but then I tried to calm down and continued walking in.

--Now, the process of the gene link system might be a little painful, but it's more like a simple shock in your whole body.--I said, once I was in the little room.--and, also, I did say that it might not work every time, so I got a doctor close, to help in case of a fail, and the best gunman that I could find, so he shoots me in the chest and NOT the head, since no mask is yet deployed for this.--I finished. I saw the gunman pointing at me with the rifle, and saying something to me.

--I didn't want to shoot anybody for tests, just for warnings, but just know that, if it fails, I did not mean to do it.--he said, stuttering a little bit.

--Do not worry, it'll be alright, win or fail.--I said, shaking fiercely now.

Everyone was watching me, as I was bracing to take a bullet to the chest, or a simple push. I shivered fiercely when I heard the gunman counting. 5, why was I in this mess. 4, I could've just quit already. 3, No, Don't think about that, not right now. 2, But even still, I'm scared, I HAVE to do this. 1, Oh no, here it comes. I heard the pounding sound of the shot, and squinted, one moment, I was waiting for the bullet, the other, I was lying on the floor, with every one on top of me, checking if I was alright. I got my hand up and touched my own chest, and when I felt no blood, I gave I sigh of relief. I motioned everyone to get off me, and resumed my speech.

--And that *sigh**gasp* is why you need to take more risks in life, otherwise you'll black out out of simple fear.--I said, making everyone else sigh in relief and laugh.--The BTS, By TobyTech industries, already tested, ready to use out there, in the world.--I finished, and everyone clapped at my presentation. I saw Dr. Kreiman barely smile, and he got up to talk to me.

--Good work out there, Dr. Raynose, guess you're gonna be useful, and are also gonna keep your work. Keep impressing me.--He said, with a more calmer tone than normal.

I couldn't believe what had just happened: I just got shot and survived with no wound, I think I got a promotion from founder, to CEO, even though I was already to that point. Today is going great so far, but I feel like I'm missing something. 'What day is it again?' I thought to myself, while taking the suit off. Then I was surprised to see Raymond, one of my son's friends, appear on the door.

--Mr. Raynose, I hope I'm not interrupting anything.--He said, nervously.

--Oh, no, not at all, the meeting had just ended. I was just going home now.--I said, then I asked him.--Say, Raymond, do you know what day it is? I forgot, and I don't have a calendar nearby.

--That's why I came here, sir, it's July 4th.--he said, making me gasp in shock.

--WHAT!!! NO, IT CAN'T BE!!! I CAN'T BE LATE AGAIN!!!--I said, and I started running home.

Everything was going so well, but how could I? I can't believe I forgot my son's birthday, MY SON. That can't be forgotten, I have to get there, quickly.
