Truth or Dare

The ringing of my phone echoed throughout my room making my eyes shoot open. I blinked few times to see who the caller is before pressing the green button at my phone screen.

"Seriously Gabriel! It is five. FIVE in the morning. What do you want?" I said as I remove the pillow that was covering my head.

"Uhmm..." he said as if he was thinking of what to say "Are you okay?" he blurted out.

"WHAT!" that made me sit up straight

"You didn't text or call last night after what I said. It bothers me." He explained as I recall the events of yesterday. The possibility of him coming back still makes me uneasy every time it crosses my mind.

"I'm okay dad." He groaned at my sarcastic remark "Honestly, I am fine don't worry" I assured him

"Are you sure?" I roll my eyes

"Yes. Can I go back to sleep now?"

"Pinky promise?" I paused a smile forming to my lips we've been doing it since we're kids. It may seem too girly but that's what I love about Gab he didn't care.

"Pinky promise. Bye Gab!" I quickly ended the call, curling back in bed. A Smile plastered on my face then I drifted to sleep again.

**********

Shit.I swear I'm gonna fucking kill you Gabriel!

I ran as fast as I could finding my way through the crowd. I woke up late thanks to my best friend. So, I felt relieved when I saw there was no sign of Ms. Frost in the class. I didn't know I could run like that, I think it's the adrenaline though. Don't get me wrong but I just really hate the idea of being late.... it feels like I'm being taken for granted.

"Hi!" I can't help but to roll my eyes for his exaggerated greeting. "Oh hi Keith, good morning!" He said mimicking my voice.

I glared at him.

He then laughed "What. I'm being friendly, this was your idea in the first place"

"Well, this is me being friendly. And I said I wanted us to be civil not friends. For your information those two are different."

"Oh I'm sorry I'm not a nerd like you."

"Can you stop being an asshole. I'm not in the mood to argue with you now."

"Can you stop being so grumpy. It is really annoying you know." Before I could muster anything, someone came surprising both of us

"Hey man!" the guy went to Keith and did some handshake. I don't know it's a guy thing. The guy seems to be familiar. Where did I see him? "Oh Jade right?" this is embarrassing. I can't remember his name.

"It's Nate. Nathan?" He said. Oh yeah Nathan. Now I remember. I mentally slap my head though

"Oh yes. You're the guy I bumped with. I'm sorry." I said earning a smile.

"For a nerd like you. You tend to be forgetful." Keith interrupted.

"Are you two fighting?" Nathan asked

"NO! We're being friendly." Keith and I said unison which surprised not only Nathan but us too.

"Okay, whatever guys." Nathan said raising his right eyebrow to Keith.

"What are you doing here by the way?" I almost forgot they are best friends.

"I'm back. I just needed to fix some things for dad." Nate replied and Keith nodded. Now they are back on their own world. I rolled my eyes and flipped the page in to the end of the book I have in my desk.
