We Meet Again

There is a sharp knock and my door flies open

"Jade! Your dad and I need to go to the hospital Mrs. Frost is having shock, my patient the one I'm telling you about. I think we need to get her to the operating room she lost blood pretty badly." I nod. I'm used to their stories because mom is obviously an OB-Gyne and Dad is a Pediatrician. I grew listening to their unending medical stories, but I love them though.

Mom walks toward me handing me a paper and money. I sat down a few feet away from her as I smooth out my navy blue shirt. I stare down at the paper mom gave me. Of course it a list of things we need to buy.

"You need to go to the grocery store later, get Katie with you okay? I really don't know what time we'll be coming back but I'm pretty sure we'll be late so don't wait for us. Don't starve yourselves." she kissed my forehead and I smiled. I stare at her back as she head to the stairs. Mom and Dad spent most of their lives in hospitals and attending to patients which I truly admire ever since I was a small kid. I glance at clock and it says it's already 4AM, it's too early to get up so I closed my eyes and drifted to sleep again.

********

When I woke up, the sun is shining bright, birds are chirping happily, even the trees are dancing and swaying with the wind. Today is a beautiful day, I must say. I make my way to the kitchen and prepared my black coffee just the way I like it.The house is quiet, Katie must be still asleep. But I like quiet, it gives me time to think, to observe or just to stare and enjoy mornings like these, I could get used to this. My life before was chaos, there is too many things happening at once plus there is my best friend who talks much to the point that I thought he has a ADHD.

That reminds me that if I love mornings Gabriel hate it.

We're total opposites. I grinned.

I picked my phone and dialed his number. Gab answered in the third ring.

"JADE COLLINS! THIS SHOULD IMPORTANT OR ELSE I'LL KILL YOU" I was not surprised when an angry Gab answered the phone. I hate to say but see I told you so. I'm pretty sure I'm smiling like an idiot right now.

"HAHAHAHA! I called to say Good Morning best friend!" Oh my God my stomach hurts. He cursed and I burst out laughing pissing him off.

"I HATE YOU!!!!!" that was the last thing he said before the line went off. Gab, Gab, Gab of course you love me.

Yes Gab didn't fail to annoy me but he also didn't fail to make me smile.

"What did you do that made you smile like that. It's creeping me out." I glance up to see my sister clearly confused. She's really cute, we have good genes!

"Nothing, I just teased Gab just like we normally do." I said

"Yeah, you two are weirdos. Sometimes I can't understand you" She said as a matter of fact but it's not our fault most people just don't dig deeper they usually believe in what they see. I guess that's why people barely understand me-us. But I know we are weird but in a good way.

I ignored her last statement and sipped in my coffee. "Where's mom and dad?" she sat in front of me holding a bowl of cereals. That reminds me that we need to go to the grocery store.

"Emergency stuff at the hospital, and after you eat go take some bath we're going to buy food." She nodded as she take a spoonful of cereals.

"Do you know where we're going?" Oh! I didn't realize that. "Don't worry there is GPS thing in your phone right?" She's not only beautiful but also bright! Why didn't I think of that by the way? "Okay! I'm done, Oh and don't forget to write dog food on your list okay?" Katie said as she dashed in to her room.
