"Why didn't you tell me you were fired," he asked, draping his arm over her shoulder on the couch.

"You were kind of in rehab at the time," she said, picking out the sesame seeds on the bun of the burger Rick brought her.

"Oh," he said. That made sense. "Well I'm sorry. I was really surprised when Natalie told me though. Why did they fire you? Weren't you like their best employee?"

"Yeah I guess," Jacky said. "My manager told me the same thing yours told you I guess. Was that I had an addiction or whatever, and should get help. But the manager is super chill, so he wasn't about to rat me out or anything. Just wanted me to go quietly."

"Isn't that a little weird?" Rick asked. "They both said the same thing, but never once mentioned the feud being the reason."

A knock on the door startled them both. They went to go open it and weren't exactly surprised to find Mark and Natalie on Jacky's doorstep.

"Nuts and bolts, do we have news for you!" Natalie all but shouted. "We know why you were actually fired."
