Story Told?

What have I gotten myself into? Megan thought as she hid under her desk. She tried to keep still even though her body kept moving slightly forwards and backwards due to her hammering heart. She could barely take her breath. She has always loved it that way, the adrenaline flowing with her blood in her veins but now she's not just in trouble, she may be in danger .

"I don't like broken promises, Issac" She could hear a man shouting harshly and other rushing foot steps followed him.

"I haven't broken them, yet." Issac replied with dignity and strictness alive in his voice.

"Should I wait till you break them?" The man replied and Megan heard his loud foot steps getting closer, she guessed he was now facing Issac closely.

"I see no use of bringing your fellows. You'll never stop showing off." Megan could hear sarcasm in Issac's unusual tone and immediately felt worried. Suddenly a realization distracted her from fear for a moment, they knew each other!

"I'm not here to chat, Issac." The man's voice started to be more dangerous. "Either you bring me what you promised or I bring you your mamma's dead body."

"Shouldn't we take anything beofre leaving?" Another man interrupted.

"After all you don't want me to get fired." Issac managed to laugh but his tone was clearly weaker than before.

"That's right, brainy." The man nodded affirmatively to his fellow.

Megan tried as hard as she could to stop herself from looking at them but it was something she was too weak to manage. On hearing the man's foot steps getting farther, she guessed it was safe to steal a sneak peak.
Megan raised her head a little above her desk. She could see three men dressed like gangs in movies. She could swear for half a moment that there were four of them when she looked through the window. They were all in black and their faces were covered.

Ridiculous! she thought. She expected something more creative. They were taking files and papers randomly. She wanted to cry or scream. She didn't want this to pass easily in front of her. She felt responsible for that, she even felt the reason for that.

Megan reminded herself she was in the real world and not watching one of her favourite action movies with popcorn in her hands on a sofa in her living room. However, she reminded herself of that a little bit late. One of the men, particularly the one that has just been called brainy , didn't go with the change of weather around Megan's desk. He took a careful step closer before hearing Isaac's -intended- loud laugh.

"We're not going to spend the night here." Issac remarked. "You haven't broken into a pharmacy, Rob. The police may arrive at any time and I may be asked about the mess caused round here." Issac half smiled before adding: "And I'm not very good at lying."

With a finger snapping, the two men followed Robert to Isaac's direction, closer to the door.

"You should be." Robert smiled. "For your mamma." He patted Isaac's shoulders offensively before leaving with the others.

Megan took her breath and put her hands on her pounding heart, like it would help it settle down calmly in its place. Megan let her head hang backwards to help relief spread all over her. She swallowed, closed her eyes and tried to get ready to stand up and leave, leave this night behind, leave and never return back.

Right now she feared only one person: Issac. She couldn't get up and face him. She felt guilty for listening to the whole thing, for even being here when that whole thing happened. She also felt afraid.

Someone tells Sasha that Megan Foster is afraid. She thought to herself imagining Sasha's victorious smile.

"I think you should leave." Issac said zipping his bag and chasing Megan's thoughts away.

"I need an explanation." Megan stood on shaking legs, getting over her embarrassment when she realized she was still under her desk.

He gave her a long cold look that penetrated her soul destroying every piece of dignity within. He finally held his bag and left.

Humiliated, Megan looked for her bag with her shaking hands and every single finger was quivering crazily. She didn't know whether it was because of the strange armed men or her dignity getting destroyed.

She took the stairs and finally reached the big gate. She couldn't help but let the tears slip out of her eyes when she saw the guards' dead bodies.

Matt! She mentally screamed. The very first guard she knew when she first got here. She never imagined that one day she will be passing by his dead body. She always hated dead people with their eyes wide open in movies. She wanted to close his eye lids but she couldn't.

Realising there's nobody else, she let herslef sob louder and louder because she knew she would never be able to do it later. She finally walked out through the gates that suddenly seemed strange, like she never knew them. At least, she never knew them this way.

She stood outside the company and took a last long look at the building she thought she always knew too well. The thought of her grandmother's warm hug motivated her to hurry up and get back home.
She's not sure if she still wants to hear Isaac's story but she was sure she hasn't listened enough, yet.
