Chapter 3
"So how was your weekend with no electronics?" Sarah asked, looking over the lunch table and directly into my eyes.
I hadn't told her that I went to the party Friday night and there was no way that I was ever going to. She would kill me if she knew that I went to a party with her number one guy crush (Bieber) without her.
"Pretty lame." I replied, looking down at some form of meat that was lying across my lunch tray.
"I bet. I still don't see how you do it. I would die without my phone." She took her lunch bag out of her book bag and sat it on the table.
"Yea well I feel like I am dying. I'm just ready to serve my sentence so I can go out again and have a normal life away from my mother."
"Serve your sentence? Being a little over dramatic there Em, don't ya think?" she started giggling.
Sighing, I grabbed a fork and started jabbing at what I thought was a hamburger patty. "Yea well, that's what it feels like."
"Oh my god!" she shrieked and sat up straight, running her fingers through her already perfectly straight hair.
"What is it?" I asked.
"It's Justin. He's coming this way oh my gosh do I look okay?"
Inwardly rolling my eyes, I looked up and gave her a quick nod. She really had to stop obsessing over this kid.
All of a sudden, a wave of terror came over me. I wasn't sure why but for a second there, I had totally forgotten about what me and Bieber did on Friday night. We were in his truck, we kissed, we.... Ugh I don't even want to talk about it. And now, holy shit, he was coming over here. If he decided to open his big mouth, Sarah would know all about how I went to that party.
Tensing up, I waited patiently for what was about to come. All of a sudden, someone grabbed my shoulder and I almost jumped out of my skin.
"Hey Emily." Justin said as he took the empty seat beside me. I really needed more friends so he wouldn't have a place to sit next time.
"And hey Sarah." He looked over at her and giving her a slight head nod. Of course she flipped out. I just didn't understand.
"Hello Bieber." I looked up and tried my best to give him that 'don't say anything' look.
Apparently he was confused on my directions. He just furrowed his brows and shrugged his shoulders. "So anyways, we're all going trick or treating this Friday night. Do you guys want to come?"
"Sure!" Sarah yelled, way too enthusiastically.
"Can't. I'm grounded." I mumbled.
"Well that didn't stop you Friday night." He said. I could see that he had a slight smirk on his face.
Oh shit. He'd done it now.
Looking up at Sarah, she had a really confused look on her face.
"Emily what does he mean? Did you go to that party Friday?"
"Oh damn. Sorry I thought you knew." Justin said in a hushed tone. He really knew how to fuck shit up.
Over the weekend I had been thinking exactly what did happen Friday night. I knew that I had feelings for Justin and it was obvious he had feelings for me. I guess it must have been the alcohol because now I didn't like him at all. I went back to that same feeling of repulsion.
"I'm sorry Sarah I was going to tell you but I had no phone! There was no way of calling you."
"Oh yea because there weren't twenty thousand phones available at that party." Sarah was an easy crier and I could already hear her voice starting to crack.
