Morgan and Fidget were out on a walk on this very windy yet sunny day. They were both enjoying the warm sunshine and the windy breeze throughout their walk. Today was the longest walk they have ever taken! Morgan met up with a girl named Shelly and her basset hound Penny during their walk and they decided to go to the cafe so the pups can spend some more time while they got a nice hot cup of coffee. The two excited puppies shared a nice doggie shortcake. Instead of playing together, Fidget was sniffing everywhere for his little kitty friend he always played with at this cafe. After about 10 minutes of sniffing and searching he started whining and crying to Morgan. He wouldn't play with Penny or any of his toys that she always brought with them. He was so depressed that his kitten friend wasn't out today in the front so he could play. Shelly and Morgan chatted for a little while longer as the cries from Fidget grew louder. Soon Penny had joined in on the whine fest. Both owners were at a loss of what to do so they both said their goodbyes and continued on their walk. After leaving the downtown area, they made their way to the seaside boardwalk. They stopped and checked out the seaside park and there was a bull terrier puppy there. She decided to see if he'd play with the other dog and let him loose and he started to run to the dog. Fast at first but then he slowed down once he hit the sand. Fidget looked confused as to why he slowed down and Morgan just laughed. Digging through their bag she brought out the boomerang and Frisbee. She threw both toys for a while and Fidget was starting to run and then have to slow down to walk. It was pretty funny for Morgan; he looked confused as to why this sand was stopping him. He just hasn't grown the muscle strength to run really fast in the sand. It would take some time and practice before he could run all the way to the Frisbee.
The sun quickly set and it began to get darker out, she decided it was about time to get home. Walking up the street to her apartment Morgan spotted a box by a dumpster. The box was taped up and said "trash" on it. She was telling Fidget to leave the box alone, as puppies shouldn't eat trash, but he wouldn't budge from the box. He kept sniffing every inch of the cardboard box and then sat down next to it howling his heart out. Morgan thought that was very odd and decided to investigate the box. Bringing out her keys she dragged one along the tape until it cut, opening each side of the box a furry little head popped up and mewed quietly to her. She gasped for breath in shock that someone would be cruel to this kitten and leave him in a box, no food no water no holes for oxygen no nothing! Picking up the weak kitten and grabbing Fidget's leash she went towards her car parked in her parking space. Opening the driver's side she commanded Fidget to get into his seat and then got in with the kitten on her lap. She drove off to the nearest emergency vet, to see if this baby was healthy. Paying the vet bill, the three of them left the vets office. Morgan didn't know what to do with the little kitten. Obviously he wasn't wanted by anyone since he was just dumped in a box with no holes to breath. She wished she could have tracked down the cruel person who did this to him. In the meantime, she will love him and care for him, possibly even keeping him. As the night went on both Fidget and the kitten grew closure. Fidget kept a good eye on him and bonded really quickly. Morning came and Morgan knew in her heart that it was set in stone. This little kitten was hers to keep; she couldn't have her puppy be heartbroken by finding him a new home.
Feeding both her new companions a healthy breakfast and some fresh creamy milk, Morgan sat down to decide on a name for the little kitten. She decided to name him after the little kitten off her favorite cartoon show when she was little, Figaro. Although, Figaro in her cartoon show was black and white, she felt like this name fit him the best. The two played together for hours and hours. After playing, they would sleep next to each other. Fidget was the happiest she has seen him since the day she brought him home. She definitely knew he missed playing with the other puppies 24/7 at the shelter. Letting Fidget rest for a good while, Morgan told him it was time to go or they would be late for his first ever disc competition. They had practiced at the mountain park during the classes and without the classes. She was confident that he would win the junior cup. If he wins, she told him that they would try the amateur cup that is right after his just so he could get in some practice. Fidget is an amazing puppy, he tries his heart out on the sports and is truly loving every minute of praise he gets for doing something right. Tonight was his first, and maybe second competition for disc. Ignoring the other puppies around him and just focusing on Morgan they made their way to the starting field. As much as he wanted to play with them, he focused on his blue Frisbee and the horn sounded the start. He took off running after that disc, bringing it back when called and going after it again. Fidget has won the junior competition, it was announced over the intercom. Morgan truly had an amazing pup at her hands. They made their way with the certificate to go into the amateur cup. Lets give it a shot she thought to herself.
Although he didn't win the amateur cup, he still got second and was happy at that. Walking to the car with their trophies in hand, a very tired little puppy fell asleep in his bed. Driving home, Morgan couldn't be more proud of her strong intelligent boy. He would definitely be getting a good wonderful homemade treat tonight!
