Friday had rolled around way too fast for my liking. What teenager didn't want Friday's to come. Friday's were great. It was the last day of the week, and you got two days of bliss from the hellhole we call school. This Friday was different though. This Friday was our school's first football game of the season. Now I usually wouldn't care about that. I would just go home, order pizza, and watch Netflix. Today though I stupidly agreed to sit out in the freezing cold and watch a pointless football game. I should have just said no, but Jackson would have just kept pestering me until I gave in. That's why I was now on my way back to school even though I hadn't even left three hours ago.
I groaned as I tried to find a place to park in the packed parking lot. I was half tempted to turn around and go back home. I had driven here though so I might as well stay. After driving around for what felt like forever I finally found a spot. I parked the car and made my way toward the football field. I don't know why I was so surprised at all the people in the stands since the parking lot was full. Why did so many people care about this game so much? I tried to find my friends but it was pointless. I wasn't going to be able to find anyone in the crowd of people. I took out my phone and called Nichole.
"Mae, where are you?" She picked up pretty fast.
"I just got here. Where are you?" I asked her.
"We are on the right side of the field," she said. I rolled my eyes because that literally told me nothing.
"Do you know how many people are on the right side of the field?"
"Okay, okay I'll stand up. What are you wearing? Maybe I can spot you," she asked me.
"What I wore to school. I'm pretty sure I'm the only one not wearing the school colors," I said. It was true though everyone around me was wearing the school colors or one of our shirts. If not it was one of the other team's students wearing their colors or shirts. I didn't feel like changing so I was wearing the same grey shirt and black skinny jeans that I wore to school. On my feet were my black vans. I had brought with me a hoodie that I got when I went to Florida.
"I think I see you. Can you see me? I'm waving my hand," she asked.
"Nichole I am 5'3 do you really think I can see over all these people?" I said. I looked around though and nope, I couldn't see her.
"Okay, just stay right there I'm going to come get you," she said then hung up. I sighed and crossed my arms across my chest. I already wanted to go home and the game hasn't even started yet. In the distance I could see Nichole making her way towards me. I just met her halfway because there was no point in having her walk all the way over there. She smiled at me when I met her and started walking to wherever they were sitting. It didn't take long to get there but I was in a grumpy mood so everything was annoying me.
"Finally you're here," Nathan said when I took the spot next to him. "They were being all flirty. I felt like a third wheel," Nathan quietly said to me so Nichole and Brandon wouldn't hear. I wanted to roll my eyes because that's how I felt all the time.
