Leo screamed out for Raph; telling him to withdraw, to save Addy, but Raphs ears fell deaf and all he could hear was Addy's sobs and a loud ringing noise echoing in his ears.
"I won't ask again," growled Karai, tightening her grip on Addy's arms.
Raph finally snapped out of his coma and nodded to Addy. She was confused at first, but then she realized what Raph was doing and before anything else could happen Addy re-enacted her and Raph's very first night together; their very first encounter was very similar to this one and she used her elbow to deliver a hard blow to Karai in the stomach, and scrambled away running into his arms.
Karai let out a few coughs but composed herself again to fight. "You coward!" She screamed.
Raph squeezed Addy and stroked her hair breathing heavily from the relief of her safety. He wiped her face clear of the horrible fear and moved Addy behind him, shielding her from anything Karai could potentially throw at her.
He growled and lowered his voice, "if you want her you'll have to go through me and raised his sais to his chest. "And I won't go easy on you next round."
Donnie and Mikey ran over to Raph's side.
"And me...and me" They both said; Donnie only had his gadgets, but Mikey was twirling his nunchucks.
"Ahhhh," yelled Karai, realizing that she could not overpower three of them at once. "Take your Sensei and leave this place!"
Donnie ran over to Splinter and Mikey went to Leo's side; each one aiding their wounded.
Raph had his sights locked onto Karai like an eagle; there was no way he was trusting her word.
"Raph, we have to go now while we have the chance!" Screamed Donnie. "We have Sensei, let's move!"
Raph grabbed Addy's hand and ran with the rest of the team, constantly looking back at Karai, but she was checking on her father. She looked up at Raph and gave him the most sinister glare and yelled, "I'll get you turtles, I swear it!", shaking her fist in the air.
The team just kept running and reached the door to the outside world.
"There's the ShellRaiser," Donnie said, and they ran to the van.
Mikey grabbed the steering wheel and they were on their way back home, back to freedom.
Donnie waited until everyone was in before he examined Leo and Sensei. "Leo, you didn't take too big of a hit, I think you can go back to training in about a week, the ninja star only gashed you about half an inch, but just rest for now."
"Sensei, let me see your arm." Donnie said softly. "Oh this looks bad." He lightly touched his arm and Splinter let out a wince of pain. "I think it's broken, but don't worry we'll take care of you. Were just happy that you're alive," he said smiling.
Donnie went over to Raph to look at his gash. "It's pretty deep, bro. You're gonna need stitches when we get back."
"I'll be fine," Raph growled. He just wanted to hold Addy; none of his injuries mattered to him but he allowed Donnie to at least bandage it until they got home.
Now it was Addy's turn. Neither one of them held anything back; they didn't care that everyone was watching and they were on the floor completely entangled just soaking up one another's presence. Raph just kept repeating, "You're okay, I'm here, I'm here, don't worry," and whispered, "ssshh," and continued to embrace her shaking body.
"Please let's not ever do that again," she sobbed, and nestled her head back into his chest.
Raph just kept squeezing her and closed his eyes. He was so thankful for her, but so ashamed, disappointed, and embarrassed at himself for her being in danger in the first place, and he punched the side of the van.
"Hey," she looked up. "It wasn't your fault, you saved me, again...thank you."
Raph looked away. He knew in his heart it was Addy who had saved him this whole time. She taught him to love a human. But he always put the world's burdens on his shoulders. Whenever something went wrong he gave himself nothing but grief and punishment over it.
"Ah, no I didn't, I shouldn't have brought you out to a fight, I should've known better," he said in an unsatisfied manner.
Addy looked up again and re-situated her position so that she was facing Raph, and he reached out his arms as if to say, "hey, come back here and let me love you."
Addy got closer to his face and said in a calm, loving tone, "I love you..."
Everyone else in the van except for Sensei, who was asleep, looked taken aback.
Raph opened his mouth a little in shock. He cleared his throat and began to speak but Addy kissed him hard and got closer to him. He squeezed her and drew her in while Mikey was poking fun of him from the driver's seat.
"Oooooo, smoochy smoochy," he giggled loudly and Donnie chuckled.
Raph flipped them off and kept enjoying his prize.
After he let go he looked at them and said, "Jealous much?" And looked back at Addy who was blushing and gave her a wink.
They pulled up to their home and everyone got out without a word. They all needed their rest after tonight.
Raph was trying to help Mikey with Sensei but Mikey shooed him off, pointing to Addy with his head gestures. This softened Addy's heart even more for him and decided that she could never leave his side.
Once everyone was settled in and bandaged up, Raph and Addy slept side by side, all bundled up and smiling, but then Raph rolled over to talk to her.
"Addy," he whispered, "are you awake?"
"I am now," she said without opening her eyes.
"What's going to happen to us, I mean won't you eventually find a human boyfriend, I just don't wanna lose you; I can't handle that thought," he said sadly.
Addy sat up with urgency and had a confused look on her face. "Raphael, why would you think something like that?" "I would rather spend 10 minutes with you than live out my entire life with any lame human." "You're all I need now," and she touched his face.
She never used his full name so it startled him a bit.
"You really mean that don't you," he said. It was dark but Addy could feel his smile forming underneath her hand.
She just kissed his lips and laid back down to sleep, opening her arms so Raph could sleep in her grasp and they slept the rest of the night in peace.
