Ultron

The Avengers were in Tony's office.

"All our work is gone," Bruce told them. "Ultron cleared out. He used the Internet as an escape hatch."

"Ultron," Steve told them.

"He's been in everything," Natasha told them. "Files, surveillance. Probably knows more about us than we know about each other."

"He's in our files, he's in the Internet," Ana told them. "What if he decides to access something a little more exciting?"

"Nuclear codes," Tatiana told them. "Look, we need to make some calls, assuming we still can."

"Nukes?" Clint asked. "He said he wanted us dead."

"He didn't say 'dead'," Bree told them. "He said 'extinct'."

"He also said he killed somebody," Jax told them.

"There wasn't anyone else in the building," Steve told them.

"Yes, there was," Tony told them, bringing up a hologram of the mutilated Jarvis.

"What?" Jax asked. "This is insane."

"Jarvis was the first line of defense," Steve told them. "He would have shut Ultron down. It makes sense."

"No," Bruce told them. "Ultron could of assimilated Jarvis. This isn't strategy. This is... rage."

Thor walked toward Tony and Jax, gripping them by their throats.

"Whoa, whoa, whoa," Ana told him.

"It's going around," Clint told them.

"Come on, use your words, buddy," Jax told him.

"I have more than enough words to describe you Starks," Thor told them.

"Thor," Bree told him. "The Legionnaire."

Thor let Tony and Jax go. "Trail went cold about 100 miles out, but it's headed north. And it has the scepter. Now we have to retrieve it, again."

"Genie's out of that bottle," Ana told them. "Clear and present is Ultron."

Natasha looked at Tony and Jax. "I don't understand. You built this program. Why is it trying to kill us?"

Tony laughed.

"You think this is funny?" Steve asked.

"No," Tony answered. "It's probably not, right? This is very terrible. Is it so... Is it so... It is. It's so terrible."

"This could have been avoided if you hadn't played with something you don't understand," Thor told them.

"No, I'm sorry," Tony told them. "I'm sorry. It is funny. It's a hoot that you don't get why we need this."

"Dad, maybe this might not be the time," Jax told him.

"Really?" Tony asked. "That's it?"

"We've created a murder bot," Jax told him.

"We didn't," Tony told him. "We weren't even close. Were we close to an interface?"

"Well, you did something right," Steve told them. "And you did it right here. The Avengers were supposed to be different than S.H.I.E.L.D."

"Anybody remember when Jax carried a nuke through a wormhole?" Tony asked.

"No, it's never come up," Jax told him sarcastically.

"Saved New York," Tony told him. "Saved the world. Recall that?" Jax looked away. Tony looked at the others. "A hostile alien army came charging through a hole in space. We're standing 300 feet below it. We're the Avengers. We can bust arms deals all the livelong day, but that up there, that's... That's the endgame. How were you guys planning on beating that?"
