COMMON HIGHLANDS
-------------------------------------Within those first two years after I met British, he was God-given, but we were good friends. He wanted to date me, and I'd nevermind his request every single time.
Had I known how ridiculous I was being with someone else who had baggage and more to come, I would've never took that chance.
That darn Preston taught me nothing more than bad lessons and bitterness. I never had a sexual act with him. We met back when I was in high school.
If I could describe him as if I were in an English class, I'd say he was a fallen angel. His beauty deceived many including myself, so after his horns were revealed, I let him go with no hesitation.
Now while I was dealing with Preston, British and I remained friends.
Preston was threatened by British. He'd say... "Why is he the only man you dare not to pop strings with, but you shut everyone else out with no hesitation?"I never had to respond.
My face would light up to the mentioning of him in any way.
So we were even. Our split up affected me in a way I thought that would never heal, but British opened his arms to me, and just like that, I forgot all about Preston. I'd visit British, and gazed into his eyes for hours. That alone was my peace.I always wondered how he felt about me dating someone before giving him a chance. I thought about that every single day from that moment on.
Time ruined me...
When I was just trying to protect him from everything I was going through. Not only the fact that I decided to date Preston, but I had problems.Grief played a large part of my life.
British seemed too happy for my dimness..Through it all, British held my hand and opened his arms to me.
But when I wanted more...
It was too late.
When it was too late, I was reminded of how big of a fuck up I was. The choices I'd made had gotten me no where. I could only feel the burn in my soul and cry silently because my world of passion was crashing.
