Chapter 4: Bloody reasons

Why? What Happened down there.....?

"What the hell was that?!" Fritz said a bit shocked. "I don't know but we gotta check it out." I grabbed my hoodie and dragged Fritz with me out the room. When we both got out, other students were coming out of their rooms and gathering together exchanging questions about what they just heard.

The room next to ours was owned by a  senior who was also a class president. She was also bothered by the scream. "What happened?!" She asked us worriedly. "W- we don't know but we have to find out."

She nodded her head and ran in her room. When she came out, she was holding a baseball bat and a flashlight. "Im taking a few friends with me. Follow me."  And she led us down the hallways, as we were running, 3 boys joined in. We came to the door that lead to the gardens. Where the scream came from. Before we could continue, the principal and other professors came running to where we were. "Are you students going to the garden?" Principal Curdenburg questioned. "Yes sir." "I will not allow anyone else to get involved. Go back to your rooms , lock the doors and don't come out." He ordered. "But-" she replied but was cut off. "Ms. Mick, this is a serious situation. I expect you to be the mature one." The principal seemed a bit annoyed. "Sorry Principal Curdenburg... We will go now."

We started to walk back to our dorms and the boys turned at a hallway.

"Sorry about that, I guess we can't see where the scream came from. Might aswell follow the principal's orders." She started walking away expecting us to follow behind her. I was too curious to stop now, I still wanted to know where it came from or who it was.

I'm very adventurous so I know every hall, every path in the whole campus. I knew another route to get to the gardens instead of getting caught by the principal through the main door.

"Fritz, I know another way. But, its up to you if you still want to come with me."

"What?! Are you insane?! Whats if the principal catches you? You could be expelled!"

"I know but, I just can't take not knowing what happened. I have to know. You can go back up to our room if you dont want to come."

I gave her a moment to think because I knew she wasn't sure about this.

"Fine. Let's do it!" I nodded and pulled her in different hallways. I stopped when I found the small door was right infront of us.

"This is it. Just hoping its not locked." I extended my hand and reached for the knob.  I twisted it and with our luck, it was open. I slowly opened the door and looked around.

"The coast is clear. C'mon!" We started to walk slowly and cautiously in the garden. The garden was huge, so we didn't know where to start first. We just kept on walking.

"Crick, this is kinda creepy. I mean we don't even know the exact place the scream came from." I couldn't blame her. The garden was dark, the shadows of the trees casted by the light of the moon. We couldn't use a flashlight either because the principal would definitely see us.
