Luna's pov

The crowded hallways of UCLA'S campus terrify me and make me question to myself why I thought it was a good idea to go to collage where there is way more people than in high school. Also why go to a collage that's five hours away from my home. Where I know people and feel safe I don't have to make new friends.

I look up at one of the clocks that's hanging from the wall in the maths building. Seeing its already noon and I don't have to go to my next class till three. So I decide to kill some time by going to a little coffee shop down the street from campus. Even though the little shop is closer to campus than any Starbucks. Not a lot of people go there which I'm totally ok with.

I fix my bookbag on my shoulder before putting in my headphones and heading on my way to get some coffee.

"Hey Paisley" I greet as I open the shop door seeing no one is in here expect for Paisley one of the workers who I've became friends with over the first semester of collage.

"Hey Luna how have you been?" She asks wiping down the counter. I love her southern accent. Its just makes Paisley well Paisley. She's from Alabama and goes to a collage near by, but I wish she went to UCLA so I would at least have one friend on campus.

"Um good?" I say more like a question rather than a statement. I walk over to the counter were she's behind and sit on one of the stools they have up there.

"How's the whole cosmotography thing goin?" She asks laughing because she knows she's completely not right on what she just said.

"You mean cosmetology?" I ask laughing lightly. Its not even a laugh really more like a puff of air with a tiny noise with it. She shakes her head yes and I continue. "We haven't done much yet just the basics but we have a project coming up soon where we have to know how to give someone a pirm" I say getting excited over talking about all the fun stuff I can't wait to do.

"Well like I said once you pass and all I'll let you do my hair" Paisley says fluffing up her blonde hair.

"Yay" I clapp lowly truly excited even if I don't really show it.

"Here's your regular by the way, and I also have a favor I would like to ask you to do for me" Paisley says handing me my coffee. I raise my eyebrows as I take a drink letting her know to continue.

"Well I need this book for a history project. And the one I need is all checked out at my school so I need you to see if they have it in y'alls library." She says with a smile.

"Me? No way! Can't you just get it?" I say setting my cup down shaking my head.

"I can't check out anything, I don't go there" Paisley tells me. "Please" she begs dragging out the word pouting her lip.

"Fine, but there's no promises that'll actually get it" I say sighing already feeling antsy just thinking about going into the library not knowing where this book is at, having to ask someone where its at all eyes starring at me. Help.

After a little while of Paisley and I talking and making plans for her to come over my apartment after her last class which ends at the same time as mine.

"Well I better get going I have to walk across campus" I say sighing grabbing my stuff fixing my beanie.

"Have fun, I'll see you around four" Paisley says typing away on her phone.

I hold up a peace sign as I walk through the shops doors and make my way back towards campus. With my head hung low really just watching my feet and only glancing up every once in awhile to make sure I don't run into anyone. I finally make it to the library which was a lot farther than I rember it being. As I walk through the door my black doc martins scuff across the carpet making the only noise in the library. I quickly pick up my feet to not draw attention to myself.

Paisley texted me that she needs a book called 'War of the British' so I head over to the history section of the library then to the section where the "W" start.

"War of the British, war of the British" I whisper repeatedly looking for the right book. Of course the section requires me to bend down and being down here is making my legs cramp.

I stand up with a huf before turning to stretch out my legs, but I was stopped by a hard object sending me backwards, but not before I was caught in whoever's arm.

"Oh my god I'm so sorry I didn't see you there. Are you ok?" The guy asks helping me stand upright. I stand there frozen with my mouth slightly parted not knowing what to say. Why do I have to be like this why can't I just talk o people like any other normal person.

"Are you ok" the guy asks me again concern fills his eyes, his large hand is still on my upper arm.

"I- I got to go" I say quickly fixing my bag on my shoulder before qyicly walking away pushing my bangs out of my face.

"Wait" I here the guy say once I'm out of the library. I keep walking just not as fast. I might not be good at talking to people but I'm not completely rude. So I let him catch up.

"I really am sorry I don't really look down" the guy says putting his hands in his pockets laughing. I look over barely and notice he's a good foot taller than me.

"What's your name? I don't think I've really seen you around before" he says looking down at me. "Think I would remember someone with blue hair" We are now stopped outside the library building. No one is walking around outside, probably everyone is in class because most people who don't have class are at their dorm's or somewhere, but never really on campus.

"My names Luna, I don't think I've seen you either" I say looking up at him now taking in his full appearance. He's really cute and I just want to pinch his cheeks because of how squishy they look. I don't know where my burst of confidence came from to actually form a proper sentence, and have it sound like its coming form a normal human being.

"Luna" he repeats "I like it" he says smiling causing me to smile before tucking a piece of my bangs that fell out of my ponytail behind my ear to hide my blushing mess of a face. "I'm Calum" he says smiling wider probably noticing my embarrassment. "I'll see you around Lu?" He says walking backwards.

I shake my head yes bevasue I've already talked more than I usually do to strangers. He just laughs lightly before turning around and walking down the sidewalk till he was out of sight. Its not like I'm actually going to ever see him again.
