Gerard is fiddling with his watch in the kitchen while Lindsey puts on some lipstick. She uses the refrigerador as a mirror and leans in as close as she can. Frank has kicked his feet up on the coffee table while he reads something on his phone. "Don't forget to grab a coat," Gerard reminds Lindsey.
She rolls her eyes. "I'll be fine."
Gerard continues fixing the collar of his own coat. "Sorry but yes," he hands her a thick long black coat. A funeral coat that no one is sure why they own.
She jams the lipstick in her pocket. "I thought we were going to the doctor's not a wake."
"It's the warmest coat we own. Now put it on," he tells her again.
Lindsey sighs dramatically but does put the funereal cloak on. "You're extra," she mutters.
"Get a hat too."
"I'm pregnant not a snowman," she groans.
Frank's head pops up from the couch because seeing his boyfriend be overprotective makes him feel all warm. "Yeah thats me," he adds from the peanut gallery.
"Don't tell me you're pregnant too," Lindsey jokes while Gerard wraps a scarf around her head like an elderly russian woman.
"You caught me," Frank rolls his eyes before going back to his phone.
"You ready, cutie?" Gerard asks him.
"Are you talking to me?" Frank replies without looking up.
"You're the only cute-," he sees Lindsey's angry look, "guy? You're the only cute guy here."
Frank stands up with a blanket around his shoulders making him look like a sheep herder. "Why would I come with you to the doctor's appointment? It's not my child?"
Lindsey is screaming inside. "No, it isn't! Definitely not!"
"Um yeah..." Gerard looks at her confused. "But you are a part of our family, therefore, you have to come with us."
Frank sometimes is more argumentative than a twelve year old. "Why doesn't Mikey come with us then?"
Gerard walks over to him and puts his arms on his shoulders. "Because I'm dating you, you warm pumpkin cookie. He presses a kiss to his cheek. "The faster we go, the faster we can get dinner."
Once they get to the office, Frank feels very out of place. There are a bunch of pregnant women and their husbands sitting around reading baby magazines. It stresses Frank out. The gang walk up to the receptionist Linda, a kind elderly woman with glasses on her head and grey hair tied in a messy librarian style bun.
"We have a four o'clock for Lindsey Way," Gerard tells her with his arm around Lindsey's waist.
The woman squints at her computer for a moment. "Ah yes, found you." She smiles kindly when she see's Frank. "Are you ready to be a big brother?"
Frank always thought he looked like a little kid but this was extreme. He does a hand gesture back at her. "Um I'm-"
Lindsey cuts him off. "Oh you bet!" She says a little too loudly.
This makes the receptionist smile. She rummages through a drawer before holding out a red lollipop. "You're cute as a button."
Frank sighs and takes it. They walk to sit down. "You hear that, cute as a button." Gerard taps his nose.
He sits awkwardly next to Lindsey and Gerard, eating the lollipop of course because there is no reason to let it go to waste. He leans on his boyfriend and tries to forget the fact that he is a total third wheel right now.
