"You've all lied to me!" I managed to yell out in despair.
"You've all taken me as a fool and made me a prisoner! I've been locked in a place that should feel safe and warm and instead it's turned into my worst nightmare!"
"Rachel, honey all we've been trying to do is keep you safe." My father tried to reason with me. I could tell his voice was laced with fake concern.
"From what father? You are a powerful man. No-one has ever dared disobey you and I doubt anyone will . So why have you locked me up in this house for so long?"
"For you own safety." He stated confidently.
"You say the same thing every time. All I've ever asked for is a bit of freedom and to have the privilege of attending school like normal people do. I'm not asking for a shooting star!"
"Honey you must understand we only want what's best for yo-" Kiara tried to explain
"I don't want hear it fairy godmother. You were in on this too. You knew the truth and you lied to me, over and over again."
"I'm sorry Z." My sister whispered.
"I don't want your meaningless apologies Vienna, you had a choice. You got to do whatever it was you wished to do. And I am paying the price, it is me who has been living a nightmare just so you could have a happy ever after. You were supposed to protect me and instead you back-stabbed me. You have laid on my shoulders all you weight and you didn't even think about asking me."
"I didn't mean to." She said as tear rolled down her face.
"You never do. And now, thanks to you I am forever bound to these four walls" I said as I walked away and made my way outside the house.
Tears ran down my eyes as it all came crashing down. I would forever be a prisoner, no way out and bound to duties that should not belong to me.
I managed to wipe away my tears and began to make my way into the dense woods. To the small cabin where I was truly free.
**
She made it to the cabin safely, and although there was never danger lurking around she had been taught to be cautious no matter how safe she might feel.
She sat on her window ledge, her windows wide open as she brushed her black hair. She hummed a calming melody trying to imagine how wonderful her life would've been if she were not the daughter of the Michael Stelee.
Her eyes began to close as the wind soothed her. Her eyes jolted open as she heard a bush shake. She furrowed her eyebrows as she tried to figure out what might be under said bush. As she was about to jump from the window onto the ground, a small wolf made its way out of the bush.
"Hey there little guy." She cooed
The wolf only gave out a small sneeze.
"Aw, I bet you're cold. The ground is still pretty damp from yesterday's storm. Is your mother around?" She waited for the wolf to start morphing.
"I get it, it's your first time. " The small pup made his way over to the young girl curious as to why she was so curious.
"May I pick you up?" She asked concerned for the small pup. The pup could only stare at her, for he didn't know how to communicate yet.
She was unsure as to what to do. The pup noticed and jumped onto her lap.
She let out a small squeal and laughed.
"You are just too cute. I take it you're three, maybe four I wonder where your mother is at. I've heard they are very possessive, I wouldn't want to be misunderstood." She said as she placed a small kiss on top of the pup's head.
"Indeed you won't want his mother to misunderstand you." She looked around and her eyes connected with a dark pair.
He had watched the whole interaction and was amazed by how loving and accepting she was. It was a hard trait to find.
"Our females are known to be very possessive and aggressive when it comes to their young. My guess is you reside on this land?"
She slowly nodded afraid for what his stranger might do.
"I won't harm you. I only came here to collect him. He got too exited with his new abilities, it should however not happen again." He said staring sternly at the young pup.
The pup whined and got closer to the girl's chest. She brought him closer to her body and cooed.
"May I ask who you are? I often don't see many people around here, especially not your kind. I thought you never exited your territory." She said smelling the pup's soft fur.
"The young one here made a big mistake and I'm glad it was you who found him not one of your guards, they would've killed him, so thank you. Now, I will be on my way and please don't tell your father about this encounter, it would turn rather messy if you did. "
"Why did you evade my question?"
"Princess, I am sorry to tell you this but I don't have to answer to you. That is your father's duty."
"I am not demanding anything more than a simple answer." She huffed out.
"Hand me your phone princess."
She did as she was told.
"Wait! My father has access to everything on my phone as a "security precaution" and although there is no threat, I can't do a thing about it." She said rolling her eyes.
"So it's true then?" He asked with a smile forming on his lips.
"What do you mean?"
"The old man has you more guarded than a prisoner in Alcatraz."
"It seems so. I mean it's not like you care, so why ask?"
He raised his hands up in surrender.
"I didn't mean to offend you princess."
"Stop calling me by that name. I'm no one's princess."
"What shall I call you then?"
"Zinnia Rachel Stelee a.k.a future owner and prisoner of this land, though you seem to already know that."
"Formalities my dear. I'm Maximus Black Alpha of the Northern land."
Her eyes went wide in realization of who he was. She jumped out the window and extended her hand like she should've done before.
He stooped her before she could finish.
"There is no need for that, you are now my friend."
"I've never had a friend before, must be nice." She stated staring off into distance
"Don't worry princess, I'll show you just how nice having a friend is." He said with a smile tugging on his lips.
