It had been quite some time since that day was spent in the old rustic cabin. Zienna had since slowly began accepting her fate, she began taking more responsibilities, some brought along privileges.
For the first time in fourteen years, she had been let out from her home, the place she called her prison.
The young woman couldn't seem to remember how it felt to be surrounded by so many bodies at once, she felt overwhelmed.
The sound of people chatting, laughing, and the outrageously loud phone conversations were slowly driving her insane. It felt too much to deal with all at the same time.
"I need to use the bathroom" She told her godmother Kiara.
"Its down that hall to your left. Do you want me to go with you?" She asked concerned for the girl. It was her first outing in such a long time, they all felt afraid to let her out of sight.
"No, I haven't forgotten to use the restroom." She snapped, still mad at all her family members for keeping her trapped for so long.
She knew they were up to something by bringing her to such a loud place, but she was not planning to let them win.
She started making her way to the long hallway her godmother had pointed to. Her hands were shaking with anticipation, this was the first time she had been left to do something by herself in a public place.
Her finger were on the wall, feeling the different textures as she walked by. She was alarmed when a hand covered her mouth and she was pulled aside.
**
I was alarmed when a hand covered my mouth and I was jerked aside.
My eyes were met with darkness. I tried to yell out for help, but it was useless.
The brightness of the light that came next overwhelmed me. I tried blinking as hard as I could to get over the shock.
"Hey princess." He said with a smirk on his face.
"Max!" I breathed out.
"That is not funny." I said with a small smile.
"You reaction was. Truly priceless I should do that more often." He said in between laughs.
"Whatever." I said rolling my eyes. "What are you doing here? I told you not to show up. If they find out we know each other they will-"
"I know, they will not be happy. And they'll lock you up again. I just came by to say hi."
"Well hi, now bye. I have to go." I said in a rush to get out of that tight and hot space.
"You seem bored, not exactly what you imagined huh?" He asked.
"They seem to think the can scare me enough to stay locked up for the rest of my life. I'll be eighteen in a few short days and if I want I'll be able to leave."
"Will you?" He asked with curiosity dancing in his eyes.
"I can't, I couldn't do that to my father, my sister has done that to him and I'm all he has left. "
"I thought your sister was going to assume all the responsibly, you know she's the eldest so..."
"She bailed. She figured out there was me to take her place, so she packed up her bags and left. That's one of the reasons why I was locked up."
"Seems like the youngest end up paying for the mistakes the eldest make most of the time."
"I'm afraid so." I said looking down at the ground.
"Hey, let me take you out Friday."
"Friday? I don't think I could, what if they found out?"
"They won't, I have a plan. Besides, you are going to have to break the rules sometime, you're going to be an adult in a few days and I don't want you to be so afraid to be out, so grab onto life and have a little fun!" He said trying to convince the little bit of a bad side I had.
"Fine I'll meet you down at the cabin. Now leave!" I said wishing for him to disappear.
"See ya later babe!" He said winking.
