I stared across the room, watching him sleep. I was aware that any moment, he could open his eyes and catch me in my guilty stalking state, but I couldn't help it. Nolen looked so peaceful, like an angel.

What was I even saying? I'm a mess.

Normally, I could sleep in all day. My parents, on the rare occasion that they acted like parents should, scolded me for it. Elena, they say, she was always up on time. I scoffed just thinking about my messed up family life. I was in Europe, and they didn't even know or care to know. I was in Europe! With a guy!

An insanely hot guy...

Anyway, on normal days I slept a ton, but last night I could barely close my eyes. Anytime I squeezed them shut, I saw Nolen leaning in towards me. I could feel the breathing against my face. I could hear the moan escape my mouth as his lips caressed mine. I tossed and turned all night, and now, at six am, here I was, staring at Nolen as he slept.

His mouth was slightly open, and his chest moved up and down as he breathed. His hand fell on top of the sheet that covered him, but I could make out the shape of his body. Lean and fit, he was hot.

Just because I could admit that he was attractive, didn't mean I was attracted to him. I mean, I was, but that was just my hormones. There wasn't any feelings there.

I sat up and slipped out of bed, tired of thinking. I had been doing that all night. I needed a break. Walking as lightly as I could, I tiptoed over to the desk near the mini-fridge that sat in our hotel room. Grabbing the small pad of paper and pen that was left lying on top of the desk, I scribbled out a note.

Nolen-

I need coffee. Now. I'm going downstairs to grab some, if you wake up before I return. I'll be back as soon as I get some caffeine in my system. I might die if I don't. I'm sure they have some in the lobby, but if not there is a café across the street so I'll be at one of the two places. Do you want some? Wait, why am I even writing this. You're asleep. Okay, I'll grab a to-go cup for you too. Um, okay. Bye?

I sighed, fully aware of how nerdy I sounded in that awkward note. There wasn't an eraser on the pen, because it was well, a pen, and so I left the note in that form instead of changing it.

Grabbing my converse and pulling a sweatshirt over my head, I grabbed the room key and slipped out the door.

The halls were quiet, but not creepy like some empty hotel hallways were portrayed in movies or horror themed books. I guess since it was the morning, I assumed everyone was asleep peacefully and would hear me scream if a masked man jumped out. The elevator opened immediately once I reached the doors and pressed the down button. I stepped inside and the doors closed behind me, speeding downstairs towards the lobby.

I was greeted with the smell of cinnamon when I exited the elevator. The lobby was actually not as quiet as I would have predicted, but most of the people were employees. I saw chefs preparing the breakfast buffet that I had chowed out at yesterday. A few doormen were sitting on the couches near the door, chatting in Italian while sipping coffee.

I headed towards the buffet, and the chefs barely glanced at me before continuing to hurry in and out of the kitchen, preparing for the crowd of people that would appear in a little while. I saw cups and a coffee pot on a table, and so I poured one for myself. Adding sugar, because I couldn't understand why anyone would like the drink black, I grabbed a plate and a scone that lay on a table nearby. After getting the two items, I walked over towards a table for two that sat near a window facing the street.
