The next morning, I woke up to Nolen holding a feather out and ticking my nose. First off, how did he even get a feather? Secondly, what was his problem? Waking a girl, who needs her beauty sleep, up at an early hour. Not cool.

"Nolen!" I screamed, swatting at his face. He ducked out of my hands path, causing me to miss and hit the air instead.

"Cali." He cocked his head to the side, grinning at me. He was wearing a white undershirt along with his boxers, and I tried not to stare at his defined legs. Seriously, how were legs that toned? I'm sure a blush was present on my cheeks. Noticing my blush, Nolen cocked an eyebrow up and continued to say "Did you dream of me?"

The blush must have deepened, but I shook my head, scowling. "I dreamed of puppies and rainbows. Good stuff, the opposite of you." Ha. Take that Nolen. Need some ice with that burn?

Nolen frowned at me and shook his head. "Was that suppost to be a comeback? Sometimes I worry about you."

I threw a pillow at his head instead of answering, but he ducked away, laughing.

"You missed." He joked, and I fell back down onto my pillow.

"Shutttt upppp."

After more teasing from Nolen, I dragged my feet out of bed. I was wearing a tight tank top that had rolled up my stomach, but I pulled it down before he could see. Soon we got changed and applied sunscreen, ready for a day out in Rome. Since we planned to visit a few other parts of Italy in a couple days, we wanted to get a lot of sightseeing done today, and that was something on his bucket list anyway. I picked out a pair of high waist shorts and a light blue top to go along with it, and made sure my converse were tied onto my feet. Nolen grabbed a pair of khaki shorts and a dark grey form-fitting t-shirt, and he used the bathroom after I did to change. I made sure my bag was packed with Euros (we had converted US dollars into Euros at the airport), my credit card, my camera, and a hat. My cell phone didn't work over here, but I was okay with that since no one ever texted me anyway and I wanted absolutely nothing to do with my family and wacky sister.

When he came out of the bathroom, he grabbed his wallet and slipped it into a pocket, and we left. Down in the hotel's restaurant they were serving a complimentary buffet breakfast, and we headed inside, grabbing a table. I put my stuff down and grabbed a plate, Nolen following me.

"California." Nolen said, and I turned.

"Yes?"

He shrugged. "Nothing, I just wanted to say your name."

My stomach twisted up, a tingly feeling filling it, but I didn't reply. I simply turned and grabbed a piece of sourdough bread, resisting the urge to stuff it in my face, and continued to move down the line. Food was my whole life, I could eat so much. Nolen mirrored my action, grabbing rye toast.

I glanced over the fruit, but healthy food was gross, in my mind. Who would want vegetables when they could have sugar and cream? Next to the fruit they had pastries, and I selected a chocolate croissant and a piece of banana bread. Nolen took a blueberry muffin that was coated in hard sugar flakes, and he also took an apple. I shook my head in disappointment.

Taking orange juice, we headed back to the table. In sync, Nolen and I sat down, and I shoved a piece of toast into my mouth. As I did that, Nolen spoke up.

"Kissing burns five calories a minute. Want to exercise?"

I began to choke on the bread, but after a few long seconds I was able to swallow it. What was that? Nolen just sat smirking the whole time, not bothered that I could have just died and it would have been his fault.
