I met this guy
He had the perfect smile
And the most enticing laugh
With the most hypnotic voice.
He had the softest lips
And the lightest touch
With the slight lingering scent of cigarettes.
He had hair that fell into his face
And it was almost beautiful.
I wish to forget what any of this ever felt like
But I'm reminded
Every single day
Of what it was like
To feel his heart beat
And smell his cologne
As he whispered beautiful words to me
That I did not deserve.
I can feel my heart shatter
As I remember
That we were supposed to fall in love
But never be together
Simply because
We were too broken
For the other to deal with.
