"I don't understand," I whispered, closing my eyes, letting my tired eyelids rest.

"You should go sleep," Ross says smoothly, patting my arm. His touch felt like cold water running down my arm. Not because his hand is icy, but because of the shivers that ran down my spine as his fingers connected with my skin.

"You should, too," I insisted.

He shook his head, no. "I gotta go work, today," he glanced at a corner of the room. I stared there in confusion, my eyes seeing nothing but black and frail wall of this carbuncle, cavernous room.

My eyes caught something - a flicker of spark trailing down the intersection of two walls. Besides me, Ross's eyes caught the flicker too, and he watched is dissappear. "That's my cue," he exhaled. He pushed his knees, and stood up.

Giving me one last glance, he dissolved, once again, into the shadows and mists dancing in the middle of the mysterious room.

Why didn't I chase after him? Why did I stare dumbly, as he walked away from my life again? What if that was the last time I would see him? That little glance he gave me, it was full of promises, affection, and terror.

What was he so afriad about?

Because of me?

He was going back to the Creators. Who knows what they'll do? Who knows what they're capable of doing? And if Ross gets hurt, it is going to be all my fault.

His smile, filled with warmth, spreading out happiness. I needed his thoughtful eyes to stare into mine, as if I'm a television show that he couldn't tore his eyes off. I needed his touch, soft. His rigorous hand, caressing my chin deliberately.

What if that's all gone?

I was kneeling on the floor, my legs bent, and my arms in between my legs. And I glared into the space before me, hopeless and helpless.

I straightened up. I swung my legs, so that my feet touches the ground. Steady. Now I looked ready for a race. I stood up, my legs wobbly, and my entire body shaking.

My knees are still bent. Slowly, I lifted my body, straightening my knees. Pain shooted through my skull. I squeezed my eyes, and gaped in pain at the floor. The ground seemed to be taunting me, provoking me that I am feeble, enervate, impussiant.

I bit my bottom lip.

I am hunching, but I am standing. Curved, like I have a stomachache. But this was a mission I had accomplished that I could not do in the last twelve years. Those blind, incomprehensible years that went by in a sluggish and lethargic flash.

And at last, I am taller than I ever felt before.

I stumbled around in a circle, testing how my legs work. They were shaking uncontrollably. So I stand still for a moment, for them to stop shivering. And when they stopped, I staggered forward again.

I saw my destination, and around it was a blur of unimportant objects. I stared at my ambitious target, as I lurched towards it. I walked like a tiger, but so much more unsteady and weak, and towards my prey, my destination.

I saw the mist forming around my target, the white blotches of blur flying around the air like a lost bird.

I took a step forward.

And then a step backward.

I watched in shock and terror as yellow light swirls around me, its great and powerful beam shot through the air like a lightning, forming a tornado of dust and wind.

My toes lifted off the floor.

I closed my eyes, letting the sensation sink in.

I went upward, my chest lifting towards the ceiling.

In that moment, I am relieved, I am relaxed, I am free from negativity.

I fly in the direction where my heart headed.

Towards Ross.
